Widescreen support for NBA Live???

Has anyone here had any experience trying to get NBA Live 2k4 to work with a widescreen? I've done a search and some one said to edit the config file. I did this but the game just reverts back to a 4:3 resolution every time I run it. If anyone knows how I can get this to work please let me know. It's the only game I own that I haven't been able to get into widescreen and it's really annoying. I can't stand letterboxing on the side =( Any help would be appreciated.
