Trades, Please Help Me...

Sun Feb 22, 2004 3:08 am

 Can anyone please give me some tips on how to trade? I have been playing in Dynasty Mode. I trade players with nearly the same ratings. I even trade 1 player for 2 of my players. But the opposing team seem to have no interest in trading with me.

I also need help with free agents. The season ended with Steve Nash out of my team. His contract expired and was listed as a free agent. I need to bring him back to the team. What should I do? What are those points for? They reach a million!

Lastly, how do you use those 1st Round and 2nd Round draft picks?

wow ... you're really a rookie at this game huh???

well ... its not very easy to trade players ... at the same time, its not very hard. u cant make a ridiculous trade ... like offer 74 overall for 88 overall.
but u can offer 74 overall for 77 overall ... however u have to offer other players and/or draft picks. for example:
your team:
74
55
49

team of interest:
77
49
46

that will give u a higher chance of having a successful trade.
if they dont like it ... then too bad! look at other teams and maybe u can find someone u like from there

as for your free agents, maybe u forgot to resign nash. or maybe he refused to resign. maybe u didnt offer him a long term contract. most of the time, a star player wont resign if u offer a short term contract. try offering 4 - 7 years contract.

to sign a free agent, u need cap space. if u have cap space ... then u can sign free agents .... but they have demads! if u dont have the money (points, in this case) they're looking for, then they wont sign with u.

hope i helped .. have fun playing!

Thanks! But I'm Not A Rookie

:D Thanks! I created another Dallas Dynasty and yep, I already know how to trade and sign free agents and draft rookies and release players too.

During the 1st season, I traded Danny Fortson for Drobnjak. Utah agreed with the trade because they were the last team in the standings. I think they're desperate to get a player who belongs to the first rank in the standings. At the end of the season, Nash was already a free agent. Fortunately, he agreed to sign again for 3 years. I also resigned Travis Best. Drafting rookies was quite hard. It took me some time to read their limited infos, hoping to get one that would best fit my offensive team.

Actually I'm not a rookie. I've been playing in superstar mode for quite some time now. It's just that I do not understand how trades and draft picks work.

Now I got another problem. This stupid bug tells me that I have insufficient disk space when in fact there is more than enough for the game. It really sucks! I've invested so much time for the game and this is what EA gave me? Help I can't save my 7-game winning streak.

Try to clean your temporary internet files, i don't know why but in Live 2003 i had this bug and it's worked.

Weird Restore

 It was really weird but this was how I got to save my Dynasty again:

First I checked my load/save screen to see if I can save. But it told me I had insufficient disk space.

Next I loaded the current roster patch provided by NLSC instead of the Dynasty game.

Then I just played a couple of "Play Now" exhibition games. After those games, I checked on my load/save screen again.

I clicked on my Dallas Dynasty and tried clicking on Save. Yep, it worked!

It was really strange. I think my computer was just playing one me since I have been playing too much NBA Live 2004.

This was after two days of experimenting on ways to restore my Dallas Dynasty.

Now I'm playing again with my Dallas Dynasty in superstar mode. It's a good thing I just have 2 losses in my second season. I'm nearing playoffs now.
