Does anyone else draft rookies that have an ok rating but turn out to be the slowest runners in NBA history???
I am in my 11th season now and have been in control of 3 different teams (Knick, Jazz & Magic). For each team i was given control when they had lottery picks and all but 1 were & are the slowest most frustrating players! They have good ratings but are slow. Even after 4 or 5 seasons training and development they are staying slow!
One of my guys was a round 1 pick! he is the only one not to be slow.
It driving me crazy!
any ideas?

If you're using the PC version, you could edit the DBF files so that your generated rookies have higher speed and quickness ratings. If you're feeling generous, you could do the same for the CPU teams, too.

am using ps2 so there is no editing chance. Just hard because i have seen no improvement in their speed over time.

Believe me I totally know how unbearable it is to have slow rookies! However, I've been working on Brian Cook's conditioning and it does obviously work and he's not the last to join the halfcourt offense. At first he was about 40 in speed and now floating around the 80 mark, such a remarkable improvement. PLAYER DEVELOPMENT DOES WORK! You just have to go back to your last saved file if you don't see an improvement. Sometime this can take 4 tries, other times it can take 40 minutes. But hey, IT's in the game! Just like a real training session, you have to add these little minute improvements to see any tangible results.
In addition, I should have my Laker "The Team of Generated Rookies" Dynasty posted soon… hopefully within this week.

Ok, but is it possible to change a file, so that the rookies in the next draft have lower ratings?
And is there a way to change the "salarycap" in an existing dynasty?
Thanks!

no, you'll have to change every year the rookies ratings, I do the same for rookies numbers : every new year, i replace all new rookies with redundant numbers and "impossible" numbers such as #96 or #61, and damn, this is boring.
To change the salary cap you've got to edit the salary.ini file.

Yes, I know but in my Mavs Dynasty I want to increase the salary cap so that the other teams will be able to get some Free Agents. They have always a negative budget.
If I change the salary.ini, this will only have an effect on a new dynasty!
P.S.:Thank you for your help!

Unfortunately you cannot change the salary cap for a Dynasty already in progress.
