How do you offer a draw in an online game?

Mon Feb 02, 2004 1:53 am

I play online avidly, but everyone is always talking about offering draws during the games. How do you do that?

You cant draw a game of basketball. You play OT until theres a winner!!

I don't think that's what he meant.

I don't believe there is a draw feature for online play. What happens when someone leaves, is it recorded as a forfeit? Is it recorded at all?

I know what he means, which is why i said what i said. Why do you think it would be any different online :?:
If the other person disconnects during a rated/proplay game, the msg ingame will say "the other person has disconnected, bla, bla, bla" it counts as a loss and you get the points according to the win, the "quitter" gets his loss and another % into his disconnection %. If the game msg says "there has been a connection error, bla, bla" then nobody gets anything and you return to chat window. Most connection errors are just that, an error with the connection, which is nobodys fault.

Well in Live 2001, there was a chat ability in the game. Think you hit the ` key. (under the ESC key). Not sure if it's available in 2004.

So you can offer a draw, sue for peace, whatever...

Yup, u can open the console and chat by pressing ~ key(above tab). U still cant draw a game though, u can chat all u like but whoever leaves the game before it finishes 1st will automaticaly get the loss + dsic %.
