How to unlock hidden players? Detail procedures please.

There is no effect after I enter the codes as the Last Name in Create-a-Player. How about the first name? What should I enter?

type in 'SOSDEF' in the last name, there'll be a popup message that'll say you've unlocked Jermaine Dupri...

First, make sure it's a working code. Some sites are listing NBA Live 2003 codes for NBA Live 2004.

Second, are you using the PC version or a console version? It seems that the codes don't work for the PC version. However, most roster patches will have unlocked those players via DBF editing.

yes, Andrew's roster has the NBA hidden players unlocked, but for rappers, you gotta unlock them by yourself

Huh, the 'SOSODEF' does unlock Jermaine Dupree. What other hidden players are legitimately in the game, I have seen loads of the 'Create a Player' with last name to unlock 'whoever' and none of them work. Apart from the supposed rookies, who else is there?
In 03 there where some codes that would only work with the US version of the game, apparently!

All of the hidden rookies are in the active rosters. Most of them didn't make the final cut in the offseason though, so are currently in the free agent pool.

Jermaine Dupri is the only other person you can unlock. As he's not an NBA player, he does not appear in the active rosters in my roster update.
