Is it possible to save the replay?

Only if you have a lot of time on your hands. What you can do is take screenshots every couple of frames to bind them together in an animated GIF. I believe that is the only (simple) way. OTOH, if you have TV-out you could record them to VHS or whatever you have. 
Edit: Note, I'm talking about the PC version. Of course if you have a console version you could dump to tape (duh).

Get a program called "fraps"; you can save screenshots an videos of your games with F10 and F12 keys. You can also see your framerate with it.
