Gameplay Settings NOTIONS

Sun Nov 16, 2003 8:49 am

I'm not American so I sometimes not clearly understand some notions of the basketball game.
Please, tell me...

Paint
Poor Shooting Release %
On-Ball/Physical Defense
Dunk % *(is it how often players dunk then they are clear near basket or something?)
Layup % * (isn't it reverse for DUNK% ?)
Fake Out Discipline
On-Ball Assist
Dunk vs Layup Freq (what the hell is that?)
Interception Ability
Boundary Force Field
Shooting Foul Freq
Reach-In Foul Freq
In-Air Collision Foul Freq

poor shot realease % is how often the shots that u dont release at the top of ur jump go in

on-ball physical defense is how physical your guys and the computer are on the ball handler

dunk % - is percent of dunks that go in
layup % - percent of layups that go in
fake out discipline - how resistant u are to falling for fakes

on-ball assist - not sure

dunk vs layup frequency - how often u dunk rather than layup the higher it is the more dunks the lower more layups

interception ability- how often you guys tip passes away

boundary forcer field - help prevents players from dribbling out of the court

Fouls - Higher means it occurs more lower not as often

shooting foul frequency - how often fouls are called when a player that is shooting is jumper is hit

reach-in foul freq - how often a foul is called wh na player is reaching for a steal

in air collision foul freq - how often a foul is called when a player goes to shoot, layup dunk and gets hit of adjust his shot

*From the manual*

On-Ball Defense Assist:

Set the amount of defensive positioning assistance for your current defender on the ball

Basically it is the amount of stickyness of your controlled defender. How well he stays in position on d. If you lower it you may have to put him in the defensive stance if you raise it you lose control of the guy because you can only move so far to either side of the ball handler.

Thanx guys.

1. What playground zone is called "PAINT" ???
2. What is Crash Boards (Auto, On, Off)

"Paint" is a nickname for the key (the free throw lane), the painted area that stretches out from under the hoop.

When "Crash Boards" is on, your players will aggressively go after offensive rebounds.
