Player Progression

Postby Sauru on Mon Oct 13, 2003 3:24 am

i have seen topics named the same or close to this but i did not see one about my question so i just made a new post, sorry if its a double.

in madden your offseason progression is based on how well you did and how much you were used the previous season. for instance i used the pats and trade my top 2 WR's and used my rookie mainly and at the end of the season he gained 12 points overall. my 6th receiver who i did not use a single down lost 7 points overall.

so the question is, will 2004 be like this or will it be like old nba live games where it was totally random?

It wasn't random really. There was a potential rating called "career package" and it was a key determinant in a player's development.

I, however, am not sure whether his stats, performance and/or minutes played are taken into account

Well, i hope that your trainers and shooting coaches have to do with player progression. Plus it makes no sense for someone like Kobe to averege35,8,and 6 to lose 5 points over the season.

thats my point exactly. i have had players who won the mvp and gone down 3-4 points overall in the next season. now if its cause of age thats ok but when its a 27 year old player then its just lame.

and i think a rating in the season is important too..like if a player is hot he's rating will rise...if he's cold he's rating will fall...
