What cut-scenes do people want to see?

Postby Larry Bird on Sat Sep 27, 2003 2:27 pm

I can't wait to be the Celtics and watch Vin Baker's alcoholic ass walk out of the lockerroom after I cut him, while Antoine verbally assaults him for screwing up the team....

I want to know who everyone else will be, and what players they can't wait to kick off of their respective teams and watch them leave the locker room in their suits with their heads hung low... or who they can't wait to trade for and see excitedly meet their new teammates.

I know the cut scenes will get old (fast), but they will be worth it just for those few occasions when you can kick off your enemy, or trade for your favorite player.

I want to see player retirement and the draft, though I'll probably skip the draft cut scenes after the first time (if I can).

I'd like yo see different injury cut scenes--I hope not all the injury cut scenes are like the Prince ones on the video. Maybe have a couple where the injured player is limping, another holding his arm, and maybe another one where the player just sits there pissed off that he hurt himself..

Maybe a couple different Championship cut scenes--and end of game cut scenes

I'd like to see what kind of player introductions they have this year. I'm hoping that both the visiting and home teams will be introduced, with the home team's introduction a little more enthusiastic (and I'd be quite happy with generic "lights go out, music plays, spotlights dance" special effects).

But if the player intros are pretty much the same as Live 2003, it doesn't matter. It's only a cutscene.

I just hope 2004 doesn't have anyone of those crappy fake humor cutscenes, like the one where somebody really want's Sean Rooks autograph, but his coach won't let him.

Hey Andrew, are player intros confirmed for this year?

And why did they have them in Live 2001, but not 2002 or 2003?

(They had the SF, PF, and C for 2002, but it sucked  )

They were in Live 2003, in the Playoffs.

Did you notice that the fans always wanted the center's autograph after halftime?

i remember, when i was on my PC playing NBA Live 97, at half time , we had a NBA clip with dunk, lay up......of our team and the logo, in video!

and the intro was at every game, now the intro is available just for the final!!

i hope have more cut scenes like, see players on the locker room before the game, watch them at practice and listen the national anthem, answer some interview

but, it can't be, it's just dream!!!!! :(

no... it's for the entire playoff in 2003

i just hope the cutscenes won't be like in 2003 (how many is it? like 6 of them :?)
i wan't a lot more, if it's just a few. then you'll get real tired of them real quick... but it's ok if it's just a few i guess, it's better then nothing...

Yeah, they kind of took away from the atmosphere of the game.

I couldn't stop laughing, when I saw such a cut-scene, you know, the one where the player grabs the camera and shakes it.
Just after New York-Indiana, I saw that one with RON ARTEST

I'd like to see cut-scenes of coaches talking to their players right after time-outs.

There were a few in Live 2003, but they weren't really that good. Like the SF always getting shoved by the C to pay attention to the coach.

Something that would be a lot more interesting is to have a coach on his knees briefing his team which are on the bench. It would look good too if there are bench players standing up behind the coach listening in for instructions. None of this slapstick stuff.

I'm not much of a trading person when it comes to a franchise and use the rosters according to the real life counterpart, so I guess I won't be seeing much cut-scenes where new players are giving knuckle punches to his new team-mates. I really like the new cut-scene of the player retiring leaving the locker-room though, very nice addition.

I wanna see a cut-scene where i went into the EA nba live development office and deleted all the cut-scenes from nba live and then ran away.

Seriously...cut-scenes get annoying...i'd prefer real time scenes of players and coaches doing stuff...and let it not interupt the game. It should happen off to the side or something during the game.

These cutscenes will be nice imo:
1.players trash talk with freethrow shooter
2."signature actions" like kidd's kiss and mutombo swinging finger
3.cutscene for audiences-hurrah to great shot and boo for suck defense(yeah, i admit that will be annoying but...it's the thing we often see in TV broadcast)
4.cutscene for famous people-perhaps someone like spike lee?

also, i will ask for a more "intelligent" cutscene-in 2003, i will have christian laettner holding the cup when Wizards win the NBA champion...I think the cup should be held by MJ!
also, for the player introduction, i think franchise player should be the last one to be introduced

yea... cut-scenes do get annoying after awhile... i remember live 2000 had player celebrations after scoring a basket within the gameplay, and not in cut-scenes. so, u can see those itsy bitsy details without having the game interrupted.
i think it would be better to implement scenes, such as player substitutions and coach instructing his players, without having cut-scenes.

this gives me a idea...remember when Pacers played Knicks in like 95 or sumthing Spike Lee and Reggie Miller exchange words...maybe they can put that in the cutscene

or maybe

Jack Nicholson arguring a call with the ref on Shaq fouling other players..
