Discussion about NBA Live 2004.

Legends

Postby tsherkin on Wed Sep 24, 2003 4:05 am

I hope this hasn't been posted before, but I have some major beefs with '03 that I hope they addressed.

First, where are Charles Barkley and Kareem Abdul-Jabber in the Legends section? They have Mitch Richmond, but no Chuck or the guy who scored the most points in NBA history. Weak. Also, I think Wilt should have his alternate face, where he doesn't look like a grizzly butthole. His best seasons weren't with the Lakers (statistically) anyway.

Second, what's up with their dissing Magic Johnson? When you slap Magic into a game, his averages are the numbers he put up in 95-96. What the heck is that? The Magic Man averaged around 19 points, 7 rebounds and 11 assists, not what the EA Sports programmers did. Thank NLSC for providing an easy-to-use "fix EA Sports' screw-ups" dbf editor.

That better be fixed.

The other beefs I've had with NBA Live (and don't get me wrong, IMHO it's the best bball game available; NBA 2k-anything blows like a hurricane) have all been discussed.

Thanks,

Tyler

i doubt it would be hard to add kareem and barkley ourselves into the game... though, as for EA not adding them to the game from the start, i think its a licencing issue. they are probably not allowed to do it.

The thing about Barkley and Kareem has been mentioned before. It's a liscencing issue not a oversight (and a BIG one at that) on EA's part.

Just purchase the pc-cd version of live 2004 and you will have no problem with barkley and kareem not being in the game. (y)

NBA Live Street is an EA game, isn't it? What's the difference from putting Barkley and Kareem into Street versus Live 2004?

Those NBA Live Street screenshots are from an NBA Live 2003 project (done totally independent of EA)...Tony's screenshots are just showing that it is possible to patch Barkley and Jabbar into NBA Live 2003...and it should be just as easy to add Barkley and Jabbar to NBA Live 2004 as well...perhaps even easier when we can edit headshapes ;) ...

I believe Barkley was intended to be in NBA Live 2003 since his game speech and career stats are in the game...and the speech is not just left over from NBA Live 2001 because Barkley's Live 2003 speech was updated from the Live 2001 version. It was very likely a licensing issue...

Sorry, I thought that was an existing game. yeah, I know all about adding players into the game and all that, it's just a pain in the arse.
