Retiring Numbers

I just thought of something. Retiring numbers! This should be in the game, like say if you were the bulls, you shouldn't be able to have a player have the number 23, cause it is retired. And if you have a great player and he is retiring, he should get his number retired. Of course, the player would have to be like a hall of fame player. Like if they add the hall of fame, any player that becomes a hall of famer his number should be retired. What do u guys think?

ya, i know, stuff like that, like say, after shaq retires his number will be retired for sure, so like once shaq retires they should retire his number.... and if like people said if there is a unexpected retiring and it retires there number, and you get them to come back to the league it should un=retire there number, so they can still use it...

I like the idea, but I think you should be able to choose whether a jersey number is retired or not. Not every retiring player is worthy of the honour.

I get a bit erked when I see a boston celtic number 6 or 33.

Well, we play multiple roles in Franchise/Dynasty Mode, but the fact of the matter is not every retiring player has his jersey number retired. It's an honour reserved for accomplished players who have meant a lot to a team.

Like players such as Michael Jordan, Shaq, Magic, Clyde, Larry, Bill, will/have had their numbers retired.

Yeah, the appropriate numbers would already be retired, but you should have the ability to unretire numbers, either within the game or through DBF editing.

Also, to have those retired numbers with their respective team jerseys hanging from the rafters of the home stadium.

Which brings me to my next point, when the season is over, it would add a touch of realism if a 'Division Champions' banner was hanged on the rafter of the team's home stadium during the playoffs.

Ok all of you are saying only accomplished players and that have meant alot to there team and stuff should be retired. THat is what I meant, sorry if i sounded like i meant like everyplayer. But ya, it would be cool if you could choose who's number you wanted to be retired.
