NBA live 2004 and it's rivals

Postby Ripper on Thu Jul 31, 2003 6:26 am

There hasn't been much mention on NBA 2K4 and NBA ID 2004. Is there any news on those games. I think Live stands a fair chance to surpass both those games this year.

But what I hope they really fix:
And this is essential!
Realistic fourth quarter AI! The last minutes of the game ain't like real basketball in Nba live 2003, the computer won't foul your players when behind with a few minutes to go and the computer should jack up a realistic amount of 3's too.
This would be a massive improvement, and people hardly mention it, but it's very important don't ya think...

I totally agree. And while we're talking about hopes, I hope they get rid of the stupid stupid stupid stupid stupid play where the CPU's players start running along the three point line and the baseline until they get an easy layup. :D That was realistic as all hell

It is strange that we haven't heard much about NBA2K4 and ID 2004, though as I don't plan on getting either of them it doesn't bother me greatly.

NBA2k4 will probably be EsPN Basketball 2004 or whatever, just like the football game was

What the heck are U SMOKIN? NBA 2k FINALLY got some competetion from Live last year. Until then, it was HANDS DOWN, WITHOUT A DOUBT, the best bball game. Even NBA players weren't really playing live. I bought a DreamCast cause of NBA 2K. And their series got better every year. I think Live FINALLY may be ready to knock 2k off.

Inside drive 2003 was better than Live and nba 2k3 and if you don't think so then you probably didn't play it because it was/is the most life like recreation of professional basketball ever made imo.

Live 2004 is sounding promising (especially the franchise improvements) but it's gonna have to improve a hell of a lot if it's even gonna get anywhere near id2004 which is looking mighty fine.

I liked ID 2003, and I agree it was the best console basketball game--but the low post animations were butt--but i hear that they fixed that for 2004.

we will see

Inside Drive was really good, but the crossovers were not effective, and there wasn't really much of a low-post game other than shooting 5 foot leaners. But I actually thought NA 2k2 was better than 2k3, I just thought that 2k2 was a little bit tighter in the gameplay department.
