Hot/Cold - Tell me if this is on the game..

Did they add a feature this year that would label the hot/cold players? The new NHL games (NHL 2002-2003) have this feature. In season mode or whatever, it would show the player who are playing bad or good. Their ratings would temporary decrease and their FA's will be lowered. This would be a good idea to add because they could show all the players who are with the fire/ice icon on the Loading screen (like in NHL 2002-2003). For example, we all know that Antoine Walker has his bad and good days. So for instance you've finished season dynasty mode with the Celtics. You're ready to get to the playoffs and Walker does good against the Pacers in the series. He gets 30+ points for 3 straight games so a fire icon appears on his name at the Loading screen. Then when you complete the series, you play against the Nets but Walker starts to play misserably. After 3 straight games of playing bad in the first 3 games, he gets an ice icon in his name in the Loading screen (and his ratings would decrease temporarily).

I haven't seen any specific mention of it, but we don't know how deep Dynasty Mode will be. There could very well be a similar feature, but we won't know until more details are released.

I have a feeling that EA has a lot more up there sleeve (hopefully)--they kept the freestyle concept a secret till like September.--I just hope they we will finally have the ability to trade draft picks in dynasty mode--but ur idea about hot and cold players is a very cool feature

NBA Live 96 had the same "hot streak" during the games that every NBA Live has: make three baskets/grab three offensive rebounds without your opponent scoring to be on fire offensively; make three blocks/steals/grab three defensive rebounds without your opponent scoring to be on fire defensively.

None of the NBA Lives have really had players go on hot and cold streaks during season play (Live 99 had a hot/cold streak field in players.dbf, but I'm not sure how effectively it was utilised), at least not in the way Refuze mentioned.

The hot and cold streaks were in Live 98 I believe... But it was very poorly implemented. As it is, well this would be a nice addition. Sort of telling a player that this guy is not your goto guy in this game.

Take Kobe's 40+ streak in February for example. The guy was sizzling.

And these hot and cold streaks should effect mostly on the shooting... The rest of the stats like rebounding, passing are quite stable. Scoring is the thing that changes the most, like you could score 30 in a game and then on the next day he could score 10... And there should be a stat for performance steadiness -> Shaq is pretty solid for 20 points and 10 rebounds, but you cannot count on Antoine Walker for 20 points every game. The very best scorers have solid games that don't waiver too much during even a long season, but there are players that have their ups and downs.

Hot and cold streaks would be great, and adding a stat for "how stable the players performance is"... That would bring again a whole new depth into the game.

Yep, it was in season mode for 98. I'll never forget lol, I was using the T'wolves, and Doug West scored 2 points and got on a hot streak

IMO the hot/cold feature is not so important. It happends naturally by itself when i paly the game. Sometimes for example robinson plays better then duncan ... other night not.
This is enaugh for me ... there is no need to gain so much control of the team .... some things .. like whos day it is ... must be figured out during a game.

Live 2001 had it, at least on my PC. Whenthe same player shot three shots no good, he had a cold hand.
But in NHL series it's visible.
