Sweet spot?!?

Sometimes when the offensive player is callin for a pass in the low block, my defender pushes him out toward the 3 line, can this be done manually or it happens only when your defender is stronger than the post man?

To add, is there a way to push a man out of his sweet spot, say the elbow is Dirk's sweet spot, can i push him out or beat him to the spot so he can't get position?

*Note: Oh ya, any other way other than slamming on the take charge button to cheaply push him out
