New guy here with problem.

Postby USMarine0311 on Tue Jul 13, 2004 1:39 pm

Sup gents. Im a noob here. I'd like to introduce myself, the name is Cesar. Main reason i came on this forum is because i have problems with Live'04 running. I play the game and it runs perfect and smooth but after like 20 minutes it always crashes, but not just the game, the whole computer just completely shuts down. This occurs everytime i play. Any suggestions fellas? Do i need an update of the game or something, i just recently updated my graphics driver, but no luck.

Welcome to the forum. :)

That's a strange problem. I've never heard of the whole PC shutting down before, only crashing back to the desktop (and most of the time, that's a video card issue). Have you been in touch with EA's tech support staff at all?

that *could* be because of a virus or a spyware and maybe has nothing to see with nba live ! does your computer crash after 20 min only when you're playing NBA Live ?

yes only with nba live, its not 20 minuts all the time, some less sometimes more. Doesnt matter if im playing, creating a player or re-ordering rosters, etc. it always does it after a certain amount of time...

Hey, someone told its because my computer gets too hot when i run the game and when it gets too hot, the whole thing shuts down. Is this the case? And i also told him i have never cleaned my computer and i keep it inside a cabinet with the door shut. He told me i need to clean it and keep it in open air. Im going to give this a shot and if it does not work, ill come bcak if anyone has any suggestions....

Physical damage to internal components could be the cause of the problem, I'd definitely look into that if I were you.

I think that's my problem, sometimes it'll just crash. I'll be in the 4th quarter and the game crashes. Although-it's crashed in other quarters in the past. Can anybody suggest any free spyware removal programs free?

I gotta say, get your computer outta that cabinate. It realy does need to breath, maybe add a couple more fans.
I had a similar problem for a while, it wasn't live specific though. My computer would restart almost ever 20 minutes no matter what I was doing. The problem was that the new RAM(memory) I had installed was not cooperating with other RAM i already had. Might be something you should have someone look at.

Here are some spyware erasers, i suggest using both cause they each pick up somethings the other doesn't.

Hope these help.
