It's best to let the game recalculate the overall rating after you've made changes with DB Commander.

I don't. Since most of the rating changes can be done through the in-game editor (with shooting range being a notable exception), I let the game recalculate the overall rating.

Yes, though I don't use any exact stats to ratings formulas as I feel they are a little rigid.

The only one I use is FT% = FT Rating. I don't calculate the ratings on any other set formulas, as I feel the ratings can get too generic.
