Gameplay issues... Please help

This problem is very weird.. I haven't installed any new programs recently, or changed any settings, but now every time I go to run NBA Live 2004, everything runs in slow motion. The favorite team thing in the beginning with all the key players runs in slow motion, the cut scenes run in slow motion, but the opening video things ("Its in the game", then the NBA player promo) run perfectly fine.. Then when you get into the actual game, it runs in slow motion also. I thought maybe it was because of a scratch and/or smudge on the CD, but the CD is in perfect condition. I thought maybe changing the hardware acceleration properties would help, but nothing. Could it possibly be the new patch? I got it off the EA site.. I'm thinking about just reinstalling it, but I don't want to lose my saved games/rosters/etc.

What could possibly be the problem? If it isn't patch related, what could it possibly be?

try to reinstall it, it won't do a thing to your saves!
don't worry
