I meant be more specific as in like gameplay, franchise, graphics, cutscences, commentary, teams, players, pretty much what you said.

Example: magius, what do you mean when you say relaistic... (list examples) Hence that is what I meant, sorry.

I feel that it is. Not to take anything away from NBA Live 2000, but NBA Live 2004's Dynasty Mode is superior (despite a few flaws), and the ability to adjust the gameplay using sliders makes for more realistic gameplay. NBA Live 2004 still has a couple of problems, but I believe it is the best of the series, way better than last year's game.

thanks for the info,

anyway, sorryfor for non-specifity........ basically i care about realism gameplay wise -- does it play like an arcade game, etc. etc.? from andrews post i gather that you could play around with the sliders to make it suit your style, but personally i kind of dislike the idea of sliders--makes me feel like im cheating almost. ive never really used them before though, so maybe thats just inexperience. the second thing i care most about is the dyansty mode, and then maybe player development, rookie draft, etc.. are they a fun and interesting part of the game? the graphics and cosmetics dont really matter that much as long as it isnt any worse than 2000...... i used to like the old nbas for genesis, but now when i try them again it gets kinda boring........ especially when they dunk and touch the rim with their chins :D i like to see all the old players and ratings though, thats fun.

and lastly, a very important question........ is it actually possible to lose even when you're trying real hard to win? i think live 2000 was the last one that was really challenging though in all fairness i really havent played the later ones that much.

The game is pretty good out of the box, but you might want to tone down a couple of the field goal sliders and the game speed. I think you'll find it isn't really cheating, with the right tweaks you'll have a realistic game that is still challenging.

just one more question......... when tweaking towards realism in game does it ruin the realism statistically for cpu teams out of game? or does it not have any effect?

There's no problems there. Simulated performance and statistics are both based on ratings in Live 2004 (previously the Dstats fields in the player database controlled simulated statistics).
