NEED BIG HELP HERE!!!

ok , i need some big help.
two days ago i made an essey on the mountai gorilla. i finished it and saved it.
a few minutes ago, i was gonna check it out, but to my grave dissapointment, the files were gone.
IS THERE ANY WAY TO RETRIVE AN OLD OBJECT THROUGH WORD OR SOMEWHERE ELSE?
i'm in deep truble if not, cuz i need that work in two days...

any help is greatly appreciated...

all i can think of is maybe run the search of your hard drive and see if you saved it somewhere else and then it might find the file?

na. I already tied it... It just shows a bunch of shortcuts and such

There is a way to "återställa" the system so it gets back to the way it was before, including all files that were before also I think.

Anyway i'm pretty sure this can be done, my brother helped me with it once.

I used two diferent programs to retrive lost files, both trys were unsucecfull...
So I just wrote the whole thing over again

Anyway, if you got (windows XP pro) as I do there is something called (on swedish)"systemåterställning", which is exactly what it sound like (if you know swedish that is ) with that thing you can go back to certain dates to what the pc was before
