Are user controlled PF's weak?

Postby mdiamond on Thu Feb 12, 2004 4:55 am

I've got a Pacers dynasty going and it seems that everytime I dump the ball down to JO (The real O'neal) I can't back down ANY power forward in the game. But as soon as someone like..P.J. Brown, or even Kwame touches the ball Jermaine is muscled to the basket. Is anyone else having this problem? Is it a slider problem?

i ve had the same problem but in different cases. SOmetimes there woud be a huge miss match like my pf on their guard and my pf would be out muscled by the guard, its kinda like when you make a break with a guard or sf and all of a sudden you have a big man like shaq chasing you down.

It depends on the opposing post players. Sometimes I'm able to easily back them down or hold my ground on defense, and other times they overpower my players.

Anyone realize that when you back down the guy, you could only do 2 "steps." After that, no matter who you are backing down, you are going no where.

When I was still playing on all-star I would be able to back down people half the time, like you said andrew. But since I've moved up to superstar O'neal can't back anyone down, and I've got Theo Ratliff's chasing Artest down on the break.

It certainly isn't easy on Superstar, but not impossible. I started playing on All-Star but quickly moved up to Superstar once I got used to the new gameplay, and I too noted that you get pushed around a lot more when you post up or attempt to drive. But it is possible to overpower your opponents in the post (and also to get to the hoop). Of course if you take too long, you're likely to have the ball stripped when another player comes over to double team.
