Okay, the last NBA Live I had was NBA Live 2000, because i've been hearing bad things about the ones after that. Then I saw previews for 2k4 and decided that it was about time for a PC upgrade and a solid new game. Well this game is absolutely awesome! I love the realism of the player movement, and the overall feel of the game. The bumping and the faking out, diving players, etc, etc, much better then the stiffer movement of old. I've only played a little and am using the sliders recommended on the site. (Although I got whooped 161 to 103 against the Clippers so I decided to tone done CPU shooting a little bit). I still average a little high on the pts side, about 110-130 in a game. I'll probably test out lowering 1 min per qrter etc.
Anyway, i've started a dynasty with the Seattle Supersonics (and of course picked up Shawn Kemp out of the FA market) and am having a blast, Brent Barry 2nd in the league in stealing, Ray Allen 3rd in the league with 28.9 pts per game. Not to mention I just threw down on the Washington Wizards 129 to 125 with Ray Allens scoring 45 and Rashad Lewis nailing 42! (and my boy kemp getting 12). Only thing I seem to have problem with is getting assists, mainly because the defense is so good this year. I'm messing around with the off-ball, Alley Oop feature to try and get my assists but am getting around a 15% rate of success. Any tips? Also was wondering why a lot of people here are desperate to use codes to unlock everything because I like the idea of slowly earning the different pieces of equipment.
Anyway, the game is totally awesome and worth every single penny that was spent on it. And it seems that every game I play i become more addicted.
