v1.01 released...

Postby Andrew on Thu Dec 04, 2003 1:25 pm

I've released version 1.01 of the NBA Live 2004 Current Roster Update, and it is available to download here.

New in v1.01:
- 2003/2004 Rosters, updated through December 3rd, 2003
- Player data and ratings updated
- Career stats added for created veterans
- Real player salaries added
- Real salary cap added
- Charles Barkley and Jerry West added to Decade All-Stars/Legends Pool

Please note that you will need to start a new Dynasty game to use the real salaries and salary cap. Remember, feedback is most welcome.

Please base all feedback on v1.01 until the next version. Enjoy! :)

I have a few questions...did you change the ratings of randolph, murray, davis, raul lopez (most of the jazz players need to be updated), LBJ's quickness (believe it's a 57)...? In addition, can you make a roster update putting all the star players on the rosters (like ray allen is injured right now, but if i want to start a dynasty, it's more fun playing with ray allen)? Thanks :)

Yes, all of those players have been updated. v1.01 contains an "uninjured" roster, ignoring all injuries. The regular, accurate rosters are in slot 000. The uninjured version is in slot 001.

To all nba-live members,

Is there any way I could transfer all the database 'contents' of Andrew's v1.01 to my current database (using v1.0)? I was thinking of copy-and-paste sort of thing. I believe they're all using the same PLAYERID in their database except for the additional players Andrew included. Will it cause problems with my current Dynasty (salaries, etc.)?

To Andrew,

I probably won't be using DBF Commander. I'm a cheapskate and I don't want to pay up for a full licensed version. Can I use my MS Excel instead? :)

In the past, using Excel has corrupted DBF files, so I don't recommend using it. I'm still using the Shareware version of DB Commander without any problems.

The patch will overwrite anything in slots 000 and 001, so save your data in new slots (don't just rename the folders) if you don't want to lose it.

Good work as usual, Andrew!

Some ratings suggestions - compared to LBJ, Melo is now underrated IMHO.
And Rip Hamilton deserves to be pushed up a notch.

Feedback

The number of Alton Ford (Houston Rockets) should be 1 instead of 4.

And why i still have the point limit of 1 million?

I'm not sure. The new salary.ini file should be installed to the correct folder. Did the roster itself install correctly?

Mm, I found it installed, but no in proper folder. The salary.ini file is in D:\Program Files\EA Sports\NBA LIVE 2004\felogic, but actually I installed NBA Live into E:\EA Sports\NBA Live.

Is it always installing into X:\Program Files\EA Sports\NBA LIVE 2004\felogic ( X is the drive which has My Documents folder )?

That's correct. The installation detects your Program Files folder and installs the salary.ini file there, but if you didn't install NBA Live 2004 to the default folder, salary.ini won't be copied to the correct location.

If you copy the modified salary.ini file to the felogic folder in E:\EA Sports\NBA Live, it should work fine. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Never mind. I'll do just that.

And the jersey number of Wang Zhizhi ( Miami Heat ) should be 15, not 16.

Eric Montross is actually retired, but he remains in Raptors roster like Olajuwon did last year.

It has been changed to 15. If the patch has been installed correctly, the change should be reflected.

Downloads FAQ. First question. If you encounter a 404 error, go back in your browser and click the Download button again.

That's weird. I've never encountered that problem before. :? I'll look into it, though it shouldn't happen seeing as through Montross isn't in the database.

it seems like some of the team ratings in this roster are still a little off. for instance the jazz are still rated as the worst team in the league.

I usually try to concentrate on rating the players rather than the teams. When you try to get teams in the right order, you generally end up overrating and underrating players. But I will fix up the ratings of the Jazz players, as I know some of them are still a little low.

Are you installing the patch to the correct folder? The installation does not automatically detect the correct folder, you must specify it yourself.

nice job, thanks andrew

i noticed a little misprint on the info screen of the installer I think.

Real salary cap added
- Charles Barkley and Jerry West added to Decade All-Stars/Legends Pool

NOTE: You must install the patch to the NBA Live 2003 saves and
settings folder.

For WINDOWS 98 users, this is: My Documents\NBA Live 2004\saves

which would only affect people who whose attention span isn't long enough for them to read the next line. no big deal jus' thought I'd let you know.
