Dynasty Mode is still a lot of fun despite the problem with free agency.

i mean is it not frustrating?

i'm a realistic freek. what happens to the unsigned big free agents? i remmeber the past lives, the big ones sign for the minimum i other teams and they get signed easily. ending up with some really star-studded teams.

There isn't an issue with free agents on the PC version far as I can tell. I've been using my version 4 rosters with NBA Salaries and NBA Salary Cap and all the big free agents usually get signed back to there original team.

I think people saw it on the console versions and automatically assumed it would be in the PC version. Doesn't seem to be the case.

I've run into this problem on the PC version.

Lotto, I downloaded your updated rosters and salary fixtures, and while it has cut down on the ignored FAs, there still seem to be players that fall through the cracks. I simmed several seasons just to see how it would be, and some big names go unsigned sometimes, even if a team has that huge amount of cap room. For example, Antonie Walker didn't sign with anyone despite the fact that half the teams were way under the cap with your salary fixtures.

before it was stated that that only hapens when simulating through the FA-signing...
and if that's the problem, the solution is easy: DON'T SIM. THE FA-SIGNING

I don't know I find that the FA bug happens whether you sim or not! I don't mind it that much as there is a salary cap so meaning if you have a star studded team you wouldn't be able to afford signing the players anyway. Also as the season goes along the players are usually signed by teams around the league who have the cap room.

The one thing however that really irritated me about Dynasty is the training camp. Your players would almost always get worse. However thanks to the power of the PC I've managed to fix that so now the majority of times my players get better, but it's still balanced so there is a tradeoff, however the net gain is usually positive now.

How did you fix it DriveShaft? That problem pisses me off too! Makes me wonder who the hell tests this game before its released.

Well the fact that there are no innovations since 2000 except for nba store and training camp. And well the store I just unlock everything through dbf files as it doesn't give me much excitement to earn the points for it and as for the training camp it doesn't even work out of the box. I'd say that's enough to irritate someone playing the exact same franchise for 4 years. They need a serious kick of creativity in the next one. I say the gameplay is near perfect... so just focus on making franchise as good as it can be.
Then there is all the things they've taken out, player progress, create a team.

There are .dbf files for almost anything and everything in the game. I can release a patch, but to be honest it was hastely made, but nevertheless it is an improvement.

They are trying, they gave us draft picks didnt they? Sure it was late, but better late than never, right?

Hopefully they will work out the bug in next years version...they tried hard(er) than they did for previous lives, we said blocks unrealistic, they fixed it...we said gameplay is too fast, they gave us sliders...proof that they are listening.

Our main gripes last year were the gameplay, they fixed that this year. Now our main gripes are the Dynasty, maybe they fix that up next year. One step at a time  .

YOu are right about everything except the blocks, I have to use the sliders and set em to 0. Otherwise I just love the gameplay in 2004. In past editions I got fed up of the gameplay, turned to franchise mode to just be a GM and I got tired of it quickly because it was the exact same thing every year. Now it's like Dynasty mode feels the same but it doesn't piss me off as much, because I got amazing gameplay. And after 13 games I'm still learning new moves.

But the problem is it's been 4 years... count them... 4 years, and Franchise looks exactly the same to me with the addition of trading of draft picks. I know it is hard to imporve in this category, there isn't a whole lot you can do.

But I think after 4 years something new and exciting is in store. To be honest I'm not even sure how to do that if it is at all possible. I have a few ideas but to make it a totally different and exciting experience will be quite a challenge. And I certainly hope EA has some pleasant surprises in store for next year. Meanwhile I'll be happy just playing the game.
