NBA 2K25 file locations tutorial

This is where files are located in your main 2K25 folder. This is where you need to install mods to.
I suggest you create a shortcut on your desktop to make installing mods easier. Then you can drag and drop the files or folders after you double click on the zipped file.

Most people have the game installed to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\NBA 2K25. These are the folders that were created when I installed mods. I certainly hope they are correct.
MODS = where all mods go
MODS/balls = balls
MODS/char = cyberfaces
MODS/char/uniforms = uniforms. Each team will have a folder and individual sponsor files.
MODS/char = jersey type files. ex) jersey_nike_wishbone.iff
MODS/clothing = font & tweak files and clothing_resource files
MODS/clothing/full = clothing_resource files for accessories
MODS/dornas = dornas. Each team has a folder plus individual IFF files.
MODS/frontend_uniforms = thumbnails of uniforms for myteam and mycareer modes.
MODS/levels = floors and arenas
MODS/player_images = portraits and action pictures
MODS/shoes = shoes
MODS = LED files
MODS/logos = logos.

Should it not be mods rather than MODS?

Also mods/roster_textures/shoes is where some pre made shoe colourways go

Thanks Bassman. You've been a big help. I'm not trying to be a P.I.T.A. but for example, I downloaded a Austin Reaves CF with his headband, put it in Mods/char folder, ran the game, went to edit him, went to accessories, it only showed two hair styles and no headband. This is the stuff I'm encountering. Should Mods be capitol M or lower case? Does that matter?

Files in the Windows system are not case sensitive. mods = MODS = mOdS = MoDs.
I don't know how CF files are structured and how to create accessories that were not in the original 2K files. Try another CF. Sometimes you have to delete all of the previous Reaves' files first then install the new one. Or contact the modder if possible.
2K Specialist has multiple CFs with the headband for 2K25.

Thanks again. I'm still having trouble getting the arena floors to show up with the ads along the baseline and in front of both benches. I downloaded the 30 areas pack that are suppose to show them, put them in the levels folder and they still won't show. I don't know why I'm having so much difficulty with this next gen version. The old way was easy.

The ads are called dornas. Dornas go in the dornas folder (multiple XXX folders and XXX*.iff files). Floors and arenas (fXXX.iff, sXXX.iff) go in the levels folder.

I'm speaking of the ads on the floor. Thanks, but I know what dornas are. Betway, Fanduel, Chime (Dallas) Self (San Antonio) Cliffs (Cavs) etc... They're not showing up in game and I put them in the correct folder (levels) I'm not trying to be difficult or a PITA.
