I can not launch the game post patch 8

Hi guys, Anybody else experiencing difficulties with launching the game post the patch 8 update. Whenever I try to launch the game an error message appears showing: Failed to load dxgi.dll with error code 0xc1. Any solution to my problem will be much appreciated. Thanks

In this case though, verifying the files or completely reinstalling NBA 2K26 might be the place to start. Here's Steam's guide to verifying the integrity of game files if you're unfamiliar with that process: https://help.steampowered.com/en/faqs/v ... -DA71-93EB

That last screenshot seems to suggest that Windows Security has flagged the .dll file as suspicious and is blocking it, which is preventing the game from loading since it's a required file. It might be a case of going into Windows Security and removing that block/creating an exception for the file, though it's possible it's simply been corrupted or not installed properly when the update came through. With that in mind, verifying the game files is probably still the best place to start.

Since the patch, I can use all the teams except for the Trailblazers. Every time I try to edit the team, it kicks me out to the desktop. This didn't occur prior to the patch. Do you have any solutions besides verifying file integrity?

If you're using any mods related to the Blazers, try removing them to see if they're the cause.

I haven't d/ld any faces or other mods for anyone on the Blazers. That's why it's so perplexing that it happens. Would you like me to use an older NBA2K25.exe than the current one from 8/8/25 from the patch, as someone suggested? I wouldn't know where to find an older one, as the new one overwrote it.

That would definitely be worth a try, if you can get a hold of it. I neglected to back it up so unfortunately I can't help you there but hopefully someone else can, as I believe the old Steam database method doesn't work anymore.
