A 70s era would definitely be cool if they can pull it off, especially if we get some ABA representation. I wouldn't mind mid-to-late 90s as well, just to have the second Bulls threepeat as a starting point (since that's where most of my nostalgia lies). Mid 2000s is an intriguing possibility, too. I'd definitely be in favour of some alternate starting points/mini-eras, as they can be a bit broad and spread out. Makes sense since we're talking about eras of course, but it's a lot of ground to cover.
If I had to pick the most likely, I'd say 70s since they haven't gone that far back yet - and the lack of a three-point line would make it really interesting to play - or mid to late 2010s so they can wind it back a little bit, just far enough that you'll notice the significant turnover in the league since then and to get some of today's stars into the league from the start (and not have so much trouble licensing them).

I was thinking since the Splash brothers era has officially come to an end.. this may be a good opportunity to include a 3point era or a splash brothers era.
We would have a fully complete roster... and tons of teams changing there style of play to be more analytical. Starting with the Beautiful basketball Spurs... to the Heat having Bosh as a stretch 5... it would be epic!

I think it's far more likely we get the late 90s or a more recent year like 2016.
