Commentators use the wrong players name

Hello everyone,

I'm experiencing something weird since I started playing the game on PC (didn't have this probleme on ps5).

During every game, the commentators say the wrong names for the players everytime.
Let's say I'm playing with the 91 Bulls against the 91 Lakers (I mainly play myera), the commentator can say "BJ Amstrong" when Jordan has the ball, they will say "Michael Jordan" when it's magic johnson etc... There is no logic.

It seems like the commentator doesn't know any player on the court, he just has a sheet with every names and randomly choose one everytime a player does something.

I've modded/edited some things but I don't see how it could mess up with the commentaries (I've mainly edited some contracts in my era, a couple face ID, and have a SFX mod and one court...).

Has anyone experienced that before and/or have an idea on how to solve that ?

I started running into the same issue today. Been doing some mods through the cheat tables too, but I'm sure that I've put the correct signature Ids in all the players. Some behaviors I found about this problem:
1. It doesn't seem like one or some player is attached with a wrong commentator profile (like player A is constantly being called player B). The commentator is just calling out names randomly. It could be popping out a name of any guy on the field (both my team and opposite). The commentator even once said "it's Robertson vs Robertson", while there's only one Robertson on the field, and it was neither the player with the ball nor the one guarding.
2. It's not related to the roster selected to play the game. I thought the issue is with the roster that I put mods in, but it's also there when I'm using the default one.

Not sure what might have caused it. I might try to delete and reinstall the game if can't figure out anything. Appreciate if someone could provide some suggestions on how to fix it.

It's obvious that your audio issues have nothing to do with the base game. It is the result of you messing with cheat engine, the audio files, etc

My recommendation is verify the integrity of your game cache through Steam in order to start from scratch. I messed around with Cheat Engine a lot for 2K17. Verifying the integrity of the game cache through steam fixed any issues I had (it brings the game files back to their original state)

Also, removing any mods you have that could conflict with the audio is another important troubleshooting step.

That did work thank you very much !

It seems that the issue came from the .exe file. Since the cheat engine tables don't work with the last update, i used an old version of the .exe file. Verifying the integrity brought back the actual version of the exe and now I don't have any audio problem. I can't use CE with this version but I know i just have to make a copy of both exe and I should be fine.
