Hi all,
FINALLY we get a new gen release for PC?
What is your excitement level for this release?

Through the roof. It's well overdue and I'm excited to finally see what modders can do with the new gen version of the game.
It's time to get the band back together.

I didn't exactly love the PS5 version of NBA 2K24, so I do have lingering concerns about NBA 2K25 in general. However, it's still exciting to get New Gen on PC, because it's the flagship version that'll receive the most attention, support, and content. It also means that the PC version is no longer dependent on the continuation of PS4/X1 releases, which bodes well for its future beyond this year. Ultimately, it's great news, but I'm hoping to see some key improvements over NBA 2K24.

I haven't played since 2K19, might give it a try this year. Excited to see the Eras mode being filled out with more detail.

Effing ecstatic. I've been following the modding community of NBA 2K since 2K9 hit PC with KG on the cover.
It's about damn time we get to be on par with the console game. PC players being treated like garbage is a trend that needs to die. It's gonna feel like playing NBA 2K 14 on PS4 all over again. HERE I COME STEAM STORE!

Really happy tbh.
More myleague customization + starting 5 + eras is everything I wished for.

Everybody seems to assume 2k25 will be mods friendly just like the past 2Ks but I can tell one of the main reasons they waited so long is to make sure the game is heavily encrypted and even with the best modder its going to take AT LEAST a year(if not years) to decrypt the game to a point where its moddable. Did y'all forgot when the past next-gen version came up for the first time on PC on 2K15 we struggle for months and months before getting access to any files so I hope Im wrong but Im not enthusiastic at all because I know 2k very well

Makes sense what you're saying, but I think the reason why people are optimistic about modding is because 2K added official modding support with 2k24, although it was limited. I don't see a reason for them going backwards. Though it is 2k. They be all over the place.

So excited. I don’t have consoles. So I never played this version of the game. I saw videos, and as far as what I saw the gameplay looked the same. But I know playing it is different from watching it. This will be fully new experience for me

very happy just pre-order 5days ago.

Not having a next gen console, it might be fun to play around with the ERAs mode if it's still in the game. I probably won't pre order, though.

MyNBA Eras is coming to PC, so it'll benefit from that at long last.

Through the roof! Can't wait to see the mods!

Extremely high! MyEras on PC is a dream. Plus, the Court/Player model ratio difference could be game-changing. I can't wait.

This... I'm not sure it will be as mod-friendly as everyone thinks. 2K has already changed a few things in previous versions to make modding more difficult. They don't want the modders to "one up them", as they do a much better job with the game than 2K

Absolutely floored. I've seen 2K25 played on and 8K display. Lighting, physics and latency seems to have been overhauled. I think they actually listened to the community this time. Even us, the neglected PC community.

Well, there is a built-in mechanic that specifically creates a "mods" folder. So that's a whole lot more than we've ever gotten on PC in the past, right?

That was indeed a welcome surprise. There are still things being figured out, but that's usually the way with a new game, especially when it's a new version on top of that. We've probably had just about the best case scenario with the New Gen port and early modding capabilities.
