Do you know by any chance if the transition wipe of a player's highlight can be adjusted/modded too like the 2Ksports transition wipe through the gooeyoverlaysstatic.iff?
I never really liked the replay transition that they kept in the game since 2K20 til 2K23 that much tbh and imo the wooden planks look from 2K19 was looking the best in the recent years, the replay transition showed the highlight's player portrait too exactly like they have it on next gen now again. I just tried exporting the gooeyoverlaysstatic.iff from 2K19 but 2K23 crashes if it's put in the mods folder, I'm guessing because of a lot not anymore compatible files in it. Do you know by any chance the exact corresponding files in the gooeyoverlaysstatic.iff which are responsible only for the 2Ksports transition wipe so I can try drag and dropping them in the default 2K23 gooeyoverlaysstatic and if possible also the exact files for the normal replay transition? That would be very helpful to try it out. Thanks for any help in advance!

He meant that you should try putting the 2k23 VCUIELEMENT in the 2k19 IFF, not the other way around.

Anyways, I took the 2k23 vcuielement from the 2k23 playerwipe2.iff and placed it into the 2k19 file.... it worked perfectly in 2k23. Sorry to confuse you. Thanks for your help explaining vetmin

it's a great mod idea. we've had the same player highlight panel for 2020 - 2023... it's a new look for player highlight. thanks for thinking about the mod and sharing the idea.

No problem. Your wording was perfectly clear and explicit; I just think he misread your post.

As for the general topic of using stuff from old 2Ks in newer ones (and even vice versa), it definitely works for most overlays to simply swap out the VCUIELEMENT. Unfortunately for me, I’ve only been playing 2K on PC since last year, so I personally don’t have a bunch of old files at my disposal to play with, but if anyone would be willing to share packs of wipes and overlays (the IFF files) from previous 2Ks, they would certainly be useful to me and probably others.

This is so amazing to have these beautiful transitions working in 2K23!!! Thank u so so much Bongo and sorry for misreading.

I think that means there's a 99% chance that all the other wipe transitions of the game can be swapped out for 2K19's wooden planks for a uniformed complete appearance as well which is awesome.
I attached the pictures of them on this post below. Would be so dope if you could make them work too or explain which files are for the other ones so I can try them out too..

For the best and an even appearance I would only swap out 2K23's 2Ksports wipes 1, 3 and 4 of my attached picture cause these look really "outdated" and have been reused (and 3 is also appearing blurry/glitched sometimes). The other one hasn't been in the game in the past and still looks very fresh. If any of the needed wipe files aren't contained in the gooeyoverlaysstatic.iff I hope you can find them in any of the other wipe files, I just exported all the wipe and also overlay files from 2K19's manifest for the testing if needed.

Good stuff! I'm using those base files for custom wipes and overlays, too. Another one you can use is the Slam Cam wipe. I'm using it for a retro CBS wipe, as I can't figure out how to get the real retro wipe (this one -> https://youtu.be/q7z2SjvSBT4?t=339) into normal non-Jordan Challenge games, and the Slam Cam wipe has a similar feel (plus a texture spot for the CBS Sports logo).

Sidenote: The NYC Invitational one that you're using is a great base, but unfortunately I can't use that one because I'm already using that wipe as an audio trigger for broadcast music (so if I used it for regular wipes as well, there would be broadcast music playing every time the wipe occurs). If I find a better audio trigger I will try using that instead so that I can use NYC Invitational for normal wipes.

Nice mods @bongo88. Any chance this can be replaced by TNT logo also? It's from the Halftime Show. The one in the red circle. It displays 2K. Would've love to change it to TNT. I already downloaded 2KGod's Full TNT Presentation but it doesn't change it.

Honestly, i don't remember. Maybe i put it in my notes.

There original was from 2k20. Easiest way would be to build a scoreboard starting from the 2k20 version.

see scoreboard attached to this post. should work in 2k23. i dunno. i don't have 2k23 installed. anyways, try the scoreboad attached to the post. should be espn 2012 v 1.5 with the excellent texture by monja.

the texture for the intro is frame.dds .... just replace texture ... use blender to scale it and move it around... whatever you come up with. if that works, then build scoreboard using 2k20 espn 2012 1.5 as base.
