Rating Update Edit in 2K23 via 2KTools

Fri Nov 10, 2023 2:53 pm

I was trying to update players using 2Kratings.com assuming that they have the "official" attribute stats.

Taking an example of Cam Thomas; his rating is now 82.
Tried to match all attributes in 2Kratings.com but strangely, rating does not go up to 82.
Edit using 2KTools.

What source do you use to update your players' attributes?

2Kratings has all the updated attributes of each player. The issue lies in how 2K23 and 2K24 calculate the overall (OVR) rating. When I created PCBasket 2K22, I exported the DNA of each player from 2K22 to 2K23 using 2K Tools, and surprisingly, the rating varied by a point or two up or down. I wondered how that was possible since I had exported every attribute. Then I realized that 2K23 simply interpreted the final calculation differently. The same thing is happening with 2K24 and 2K23 again. You're really doing it right. So, my advice is to adjust the final rating using intangibles, which is exactly what I'm doing in PCBasket 2K24 to align all the OVRs with respect to 2K24 in 2K23.

Yep this is what I noticed too, if you copy identical stats/badges for a certain position, you won't get the same overall which tells me that they calculate the overall differently. Interestingly they've changed the stat threshold for played archetypes aswell because with identical stats you get different archetypes. For example Cam Thomas is a Inside-Out Scorer on 2K24 but with the same stats I think he becomes a Shoot first 2 guard or shoot first wing, whatever it's called on 2K23.
