2K22 cover athletes revealed

Which frankly is no surprise, because the preview season is about to start anyway.

These teasers however pretty much confirm Dirk Nowitzki as a cover athlete for legends edition, which confirms earlier leaks.
They should be revealing standard edition cover athlete tomorrow.

Right, the cat's out of the bag now and the leaks were correct! With one surprise.

Standard edition cover athlete is Mavs' Luka Dončić:


Legend edition cover athletes are Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Dirk Nowitzki and Kevin Durant as "3 legends of their era":


And the surprise... Is "Gamestop exclusive" cover athlete, Candace Parker:

That's pretty cool to have a woman be the solo cover athlete of a basketball game. Hopefully the women become a bigger part of the game rather than an afterthought

It's also for the occasion of 25 years of WNBA, similar to NBA's 75 years.

As I said in the other topic, I'm a fan of the artwork. Interesting that they didn't go with MJ as well on the 75th Anniversary cover, but I suppose they have featured him three times before. In any case, some nice covers this year.
