I have searched previous years and found that in previous 2k's that shared .dds files (the ones with 0 size) within iff's were able to be edited but that seems to be only possible with the 2k17 exporter, which was updated to the file exporter for 2k21. Has anyone been able to extract/access these dds files in 2k21? This is mostly in reference to retro stadiums. For example the scorers tables sometimes is a shard file or the stanchion padding on retro stadiums or even home slip mats.
OR
Has anyone done a lot of editing to retro stadiums in the past and have a stadium .iff that has edited things like these shared files and could share one/them here so that I/we could just use them as reference of the file sizes etc.? I would do it myself but this is my first year with PC 2k. It definitely works that way, I have been able to replace slip mats and a few other random items that way but a lot of the important things I want to edit I can't find. It appears that 2k hasn't touched the bulk of these retro stadiums since like 2014 so most should be able to transfer over even if only enough to get them into photoshop. I know this is kind of a niche topic but I'm interested in editing some of the really inaccurate retro stadiums, thanks in advance.

If you extract the shared folder. You will get a lot of .dds files, these are actually zipped. If you open them with Winmarleigh or 7zip you can extract the actual files to copy to mods\shared and edit in there.

WOW thanks, that's a game changer. Just tested it and I think I have the hang of it.
