Help for a noob required.

I downloaded TV logos, scorebaords and watermarks etc and they're in the `mods' folder, which prior to me adding them, was empty. It was all working fine until yesterday. Should the Mods folder only contain .iff files? I can clear it, empty it out, and and the mods again but I'm still getting the 2K sports watermark and scoreboard. Is there somewhere where they need deleting from that I just can't find? As I say, they were working at one stage so I assumed the easiest way to add them one by one but I'm still having for joy. Thanks in advance.

yes I think it is. Ignore my stupidity, but does downloading it wreck everything. I must've done something wrong because the players now don't look as good, as 'sweaty' as the period develops. Sorry for being think, I'm new to this. Sorry for the delay in replying. Just looked, there's two v 7.0.0, one just called that, and one thats called Hook 7.0.0 by looyh.
Those folders also appear to have empty mod folders in them, together with something called dimput.dll and also NBA2K Hooks.dll. Where should these be placed, the root folder and the mods I want going into THAT mods folder instead of he one I had to manually create? Also which version of Hook 7.0.0?
I only chose ESPN because thats the only one I know that is used in the UK. I'd use the NBC one but the logo is in the top right corner, so I can't see my individual stats. Hope this makes sense.(Someone made me a new Nuggets court, with blue in the paint, but that only worked on Play Now, not my existing career, although the ESPN ones were added after I started the career and they work fine.Sorry to be so computer language illiterate.

And it should work in all modes assuming the f0*.iff is in the mods folder.
You should have the hook and dlls in the main NBA2k21 folder (if you use steam it is probably C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\NBA 2K21) and in there make a sub folder called Mods

And in that mods folder, within the hook folder, I should put all the mods in that Mods folder rather than the one in the main game directory? That sort of makes sense. I think. Or do those folders stay empty and the mods stay in the main directory mods folder? Thanks in advance

The next question I have is can you recommend good reshade settings? I seem to have so much different versions but none have the same ‘sweaty’ appearance as the first one I downloaded. (I don’t know what this was, one of many Next Gen - THIS ONE TOM folders in my downloads folder! I’m rubbish, I know. But I’ll get there

And to answer your question yes it was you that made the court. And a brilliant job you did of it as well. It was weird that it was showing in Play Now but not My Career. God I must be such a pain I’m sorry

the mods folder should be in the main 2k21 folder NOT in the hook folder as far as I know, only been modding this game for a few months and find there is very little help, the mods haven't changed much since earlier versions and so the instructions are all over the place.
I use a ungak reshade but I haven't found anything that looks good to me with the new dark courts I downloaded

Hi again mate. Well I went nuclear and removed the whole steam directory including mods and started again, thinking I might find a rogue mod that would stop the court showing only in Play Now. No such luck, although all my other mods work. I’m guessing it’s a career issue, ie something at 2k’s end would break if modding a court. That’s the only explanation I can think of. Thank you for all your help and for the court, which looks perfect. Unless someone randomly happens upon this thread at confirms it’s a My Career issue, I’ll assume it is.

I can't believe that is the case, mycareer uses the same stadia as other modes.
Maybe in playnow you are using a historical team? Some of those have different stadiums.
The Nuggest use f019.iff as the floor and this should be your file in the mods folder

I’ve only ever used the 20-21 teams. Today I simmed a play now just using the usual, as they aren’t playing tonight. Seem think happens. All scoreboard mods etc are all there, the court you made me is also still there. Process of elimination at my end is that for some reason all my saves are offline ie they have a line through them, 1: I don’t know how to change this and think I should because I don’t want to lose a hundred or so hours, and 2: it’s the last possible thing I can think off. Football Manager works the same way, certain elements only show up on a new game. I’d start again (theres two slots as everyone knows) but I’m scared I’ll lose the one I’ve got. It would at least confirm//illiminate it being an online/ofe game thing. I’d hate to lose what I’ve already got. I might be massively over-paranoid that starts a new pro will someone overwrite my existing one. I mean, it shouldn’t really, there’s two slots for a reason after all. Within one home game I’d eliminate that possibility I guess, I’m just scared of losing my save game and I can’t find it saved anywhere under AppData or anywhere on the C: drive (it’s currently installed on F, where I have plenty of room.

For example:

For example:

Mods\Players\Keldon Johnson\××××××.iff

2.Make a new sub folder called mods
3.put f019.iff in the mods folder
4. Play some games at denver..play now, myteam, mycareer etc
5. Tell me what you see
If you are worried take a copy of your career so you can restore if something breaks

I've tried one and put 2 files of Keldon Johnson face into:

Mods\Keldon Johnson\png7848.iff

Mods\Keldon Johnson\face7848.iff

And I've also tried putting these 2 files into:

Mods\7848\png7848.iff

Mods\7848\face7848.iff

Conclusion: neither work.

of course it will work (as we all knew) when .iff files are put into Mods folder but I was just trying to be tidy and like to have everything organized as such in subfolders (easier to maintain too).

However combination I try, folders within a big folder with all the .iff’s in it, with the exclusion of overwriting the F019.iff you sent me, and also taking all the .iff folders out of any folders that were in there.
Whichever way round I try the same thing happens. I choose a random match at the Nuggets arena, and see it perfectly in every type of match I’ve tried (namely: ‘Tonight’s NBA’ when they happen to be playing that night, as well as just Play Now (any opponents, at home). Very odd. I don’t know whether the same thing would happen if you zipped a copy of your mod folder (ready to bin the new one off when you’ve tried and ideally, seen the same thing as me, and re-unzipped it back into place).
I’m at a complete loss, but I’m also aware that peoples time is precious. Thank you for you help and patience.

I'm now confused to the issue, you say you can see the new Nuggets floor I made you?
you don't need to zip anything just rename the folder while you try like I suggested.
I have played a playnow game with my f019 and I can see the honeycomb, then in mycareer I am playing the 76ers so I renamed the f019 to f000.iff and it shows up as the Nugs honeycomb floor.

No, the issue has always been the same. The court shows up on all the Play Now modes but the Amy Career seems to use its F019.iff from elsewhere, or it’s set in stone when you start the career. The 8k Wilson ball worked ok as well. It’s very strange. It’s as if the file just doesn’t exist, which it clearly does.

it is neither set in stone or used from elsewhere, I have been able to mod\change all courts\floors while progressing through my career.
MyTeam seems to use files differently but myCareer is fine as you can see from the pic I have changed the 76ers court just now, 3 seasons into my career with the Rockets

Very odd. You’d think people using ‘no crowd’ mods would run into a similar issue but don’t see to be doing. Even the fresh instal I thought would work but no. The simplest way is to create a new player, but I need to be 100 percent sure I can reload my other one if it does or doesn’t work. Then it’s for me to weigh up whether sacrificing 28 months game time without simming is worth the loss. But if I knew that, I’d instantly narrow it down from it not being that.
I’m just jealous you can mod your existing one. The talent on this website should be working for 2K!

you can create lots of different players and use whichever you want.
I have 4 separate careers ongoing but it should make no difference. The stadia cab swap in and out as often as you like and are not locked by the career.
Have you tried renaming f019.iff to replace the next place you play and see if that works?

To be honest I’ve given up as a bad job. I’m at such a dead end I know you’re all busy, so I’ll just have to live with it is now. I’m now trying to download the empty stadium mod (I know you can switch crowd ‘off’ in graphics but it still only gives me seats not banners/ad)s. I’m realising that customising this is a whole lot harder than racing games! need to spend time actually enjoying the game and not get bogged down in striving for ‘realistic as possible’. What’s a waigua folder? I now have a folder in WinApp flight sim blah number blah in my c: drive. This seems to have liveries in it that work. Do I need that folder specially or can the contents of the waigua which work ok be put in Community.
Sorry. I’m so very tired, I’ve been up 36 hours. Apologies up front for not being able to see what I’m typing could be understood by anyone else!
