2K20-2K21 Files Compatibility [Laboratory]

I tried to put a cf from 2k21 in 2k20 and this is my experience:
It´s promising but It doesn't work 100%, if you use a facexxxx.iff file from 2k21 on 2k20 you will get an invisible player. On the other hand, if you use the 2k21 pngxxxx.iff with a 2k20 facexxxx.iff file the model works almost entirely.
I imagine this is due to the way dds files are saved. Perhaps with some modifications on the txtr file we can solve it. If some of you are experiencing something similar, feel free to share your thoughts.

I don´t know bcs I´m trying 2k21 files in 2k20. We have to wait for a 2k21 waigua update.

So this likely means we won't have a clean carry over of 2k20 cyberfaces to 2k21. Damn. They always have to make small changes that prevents modding compatibility

No he tried this in 2k20 with 2k21 files. So it means they aren't 100% compatible the other way, too. Nothing to do with Waigua

that sucks. lol

From my point of view, this is a files headers problem. Of course, models would have to be fixed in order to properly feet. I remember something similar that happened in the transition between FIFA 14 and FIFA 15. Models were compatible but not totally we had to convert them but in the end, they worked . Of course, files headers were different.

Exactly, but it´s fantastic. I have tried one of my custom cfs and it works fine, only needs some body tweaks with blender.

I just put a floor from 2k21 to 2k20 and it worked perfect

I shrink-wrapped the 2k21 Derrick Rose body model and mixed that in with editing some appearance info and few more chest adjustments in blender and I was able to convert this Derrick Rose from 2k20. Might be a bit tedious depending on the number of cyberfaces you want to bring over, but the process seems way better than the 2k19->2k20 conversion. You may get away with just editing appearance info and making adjustments in blender rather than having to do shrinkwrap at all.

Update: you really don't even need to bother with shrinkwrap or appearance data unless the player from 2k20 has a very warped body. Had a very smooth time fixing up a John Wall and really only needed to flatten his chest region

Great finding. Did you try a 2k21 cf in 2k20?

I think from 2k20 to 2k21 is going to be easier. Bcs I get a strange glitch when I did shrinkwrap. (I didn´t edit the appearace file, I don´t know what I need to edit). Did you try it in 2k20 Thunder Shaq? I would like to convert some cfs for my pcbasket roster.

I have not tried it the other way (2k21 mods to 2k20). Right now it seems 2k21 conversions are going to be easy by adjusting the chest, but 2k20 will pose some challenges. That is quite the warped jersey We know the issue of 2k20->2k21 is we need to reduce chest size, perhaps there is a part we need to adjust for 2k21->2k20 that can be a simple fix?

Floors are working.

Dornas work but I think some files will need to be renamed. Looking into this tonight probably.

Havent been able to see a studio show yet to see if those work
