NBA 2K21 Updates killing mods

Are they anyway to cancel updates for nba 2k21 on steam. seems with every update I loose mods they no longer work.

Maybe re-copying the mods into the mods folder? Written down that sounds ridiculous, unless they've altered the contents of that folder, which I very much doubt. But anything that's over-written anything in the main folders you'd expect to have to re-copy and paste. I'm thinking out loud here, I'm sure someone with a lot more knowledge will be able to cast some light on it. It's not a rare thing to have to do after game updates.

I'm with you, the mods add to the game a lot. More polish on an already well-polished game can only ever be a good thing. Til it breaks.

That's not how it works as you do not overwrite original game files by installing the mods. The way mods work in 2k is that you have a folder where a 3rd party tool (the NBA 2k Hook Tool) takes the files from and implements then when the game runs. So if there is a game update, it will change the original games files, but of course not the folder that you created yourself to paste all mods into.

I don't know of any way to achieve this either. What mods are not working after patches?
