Assign shoes from recent roster update to a player of an older roster

Wondering if there's any way to do it cause in the ingame editor they're not in the shoe list on the older, ONLY on the specific newer roster.
I also tried to assign through 2K21 Tools, there the new models are indeed in the list but they transform to 2K default model sadly when I assign them to an older roster player, from when they weren't in the game yet. Thanks for any help in advance!
