Downloading game updates stuck at 0% fix

I posted recently that my NBA 2k21, 2k20, and 2k19 all brought up a downloading game updates message with the update bar stuck at 0% which shut down every function of the game except play now. I have some positive news that could also help others. My 3 2k games didn't work for 45 days and for me the fix was that my antivirus protection was blocking any updates. The instant I turned off antivirus protection the downloads all processed quickly. On 2k19 I did lose a mod I downloaded from a modder who shared it, but I think that was because I followed the 2k devs instructions and deleted the sync.bin. On 2k20 where I put a lot more work on a shared modded roster as far as signature shots, tendencies, shoes etc the roster was corrupted at first but returned after the update.

I have to agree that antivirus protection (for me anyway) back in the day would cause many issues with patches etc
