This might be just me, but 2K seems to include what's considered "just enough" to be able to push out a classic lineup. As Sticky mentioned, those jerseys don't look good at all (they wouldn't look out of place in 2K15) and it shows that they just rushed to get the '12 USA team out. IIRC, 2K also mentioned that they "scan" the jerseys, so there should be no excuse for how the jerseys look (the jerseys are obviously not scanned; it's not hard to tell).
It's not only the uniforms, but the cyberfaces too. Ever since 2K's focus has shifted towards the Playground and MyTEAM modes, there has been a considerable lack of detail in the classic teams. I remember in 2K12 where they not only included most of the players for the '02 Kings, but also gave guys like Bibby, Stojackovic, and Gerald Wallace younger cyberfaces to accompany the team. Granted, this was during the lockout and the game had a prominent focus on the classic teams, but fast forward to now and you have teams from almost 10 years ago with players looking how they do today.
