how to make a player look Buffed?

Postby garypayton on Mon Nov 11, 2019 3:50 am

Guys,

i can't get my custom players i'm creating to look buffed. I hate to see those skinny arms, i tried to work on the appereance.dat but can't get it to work properly, can't understand what i am doing wrong.

Any suggestion?

You have to go into Blender and edit the body manually either by sculpting it or using shrinkwrap. The people who are creating editing bodies on here are doing one or both of those things.

Download Blender and install the blender plugin found in this modding section.

And for example, here is my shrinkwrapping and editing a body in blender for 2K17.

thank you!!!

wouldn't be more simple by adding the right appereance.dat file to the player .iff ???

who's the more buffed player in the game?

I honestly dont think it works that way, I believe the game crashes when you do that. And, most players don't look buff in the game by default, the body types overall kind of have a soft/marshmallow look to them. Like Ben Wallace certainly doesn't look right by default.

I think if you want to edit body types, the best way to do it would be the Blender route. Once you get used to it, it's fairly easy and kind of fun.

thanks for your answers. You can change the appereance.dat, the game won't crash, but as you said, for some reason, there are no really buffed players in the game.

The only way to have a player buffed is create him, but you can't extract a .iff file from a created player, so there is no way to have access to the appereance.dat.

It has to be done through blender or find one of those global mods that adds muscle tone to every player. The appearance.dat only will affect lengths of boy parts and how accessories an uniforms fit.

The only slight variation to that is that if the player body type is listed as “regular” or “soft” you can change it to “ripped”. It’s purely a texture difference though (shadow definition, veins,) and if it’s already set to ripped then that’s the max. If you’re looking for a noticeable difference blender is the only way to accomplish it.

so the buffed Zion i'm seeing is made with blender... Ok

is there a separate file inside the iff file that defines the body, or we really have to change every player body with blender?
