Honestly the way most of us feel is if you DON'T work for 2K or EA, you ain't getting paid for your mods. That's how it goes. Take it elsewhere because there is time for it here. You mod for the love of the game/sport/genre. Not for profit, you want to profit, go to school, bust your ass, get a degree, network and apply for the job.

Please dont polute on of of the few "clean" 2k modding forums. It´s one thing to put a small link to a donation site but im not a fan of asking for donations. Also why not use mediafire ? I can live without some mods just for the sake of keeping the culture on this place the same as it is now.

As you admit, you are not a creator or modifier so you are simply using others' work that you enjoy in your own game. That is no problem. It becomes a problem when you release it as your own work, picking different mods and combining them into a package you are saying is your own work. That is where we have a problem. You can't do that then list the person who did it as "credit" then go on and monetize it for your own gain, unless you were given specific permission to do so by all of the people whose work you are monetizing.

I think what you could do if you want to share or bring attention to mods you like to use is post screenshots and give shoutouts or links to those mods that you like to use

Nobody is saying you have an exact copy of looyah, the statement was made that all you did was take looyah’s sXXX.iff file and add Michaellutz’s lighting. Having looked into it, I was able to create the exact thing as “Deibys global lighting” by just making this basic change. It’s a little disingenuous to advertise it as your product when this is the only change.

I'm sorry but while I don't like the ad.fly practice or the request of # amount of likes to produce work (albeit it's sadly a well established practice on the YT community of Nba 2K) you are a liar. You CANNOT recreate the same effects in his variations by simply mixing an unmodified Michaelvultz lightning with looyah's court files and you never tried to do so or else you would know (in fact only just comparing screenshots will tell you likewise, unless you are practically so blind as to neither be able to recognize a difference in the white point). Stop saying things that aren't true just to put others down. He used Michael's original file as a base but he then modified variables having to do with the court and crowd lightning (as any file comparison program will easily tell you).

Before posting accusations of misdemeanor maybe - just maybe - you should be extremely sure that what you are saying is, in fact, true, or is it not? Isn't accusing another person unjustly as much - if not more - a reason for a ban than bad modding practices? I would think so.

I wonder why the only thing you do for 90% of your time in this forum is going in other people's threads and have something negative to say. I can understand it happening sometimes, in specific circumstances, but when it happens constantly then a certain pattern of conduct starts to emerge. Maybe instead of investing all this energy in criticizing others you should start looking at yoursel for a change and then, maybe, just maybe, you will start to understand that many (if not most) times things you dislike in others are actually patterns that you recognize - and despise - in yourself.

So I’ll keep this about the content of this thread and not me personally because that’s what’s mostly on topic. I don’t need to defend anything from anyone. Anyways, you absolutely can recreate the same thing. I’ve literally done it, it’s Michaellutz’s lighting, looyah’s stadium, and you add in the posteffects from a previous 2k19 thread and boom, you’ve got 95% of the effect he claims he spent 5+ hours on. That “white effects” is handled by a posteffects tweak that took 30 seconds to find. This isn’t some massive undertaking that’s requires hours of work and weeks to master, you adjust a single variable.

My overlying point is that this whole thread needs to be more transparent. Between ad-links and content. I know there’s a language barrier but multiple people have asked for what he’s exactly changing and there’s been radio silence. There hasn’t even been rationale given for why he won’t share a single shred of information. This place is a community that thrives off of cooperation. He’s building off the backs of other creators yet won’t explain what he’s changing beyond their work. It was literally demonstrated in a previous post by mrk326 that this is basically just a combined mod. You can go after me, but I’m not alone in my suspicion.

Ah, so now it has turned into "95% of the effect" and the modification has magically changed from "just put Michaelvult's lightning and looyah's courts and you have the mod" to adding 2K19 variations in the posteffects along the other two's mixed with his how personal changes (that naturally are just a matter of simple minutes, because everyone knows that amount of work and testing done in a LIGHTNING mod is strictly tied to the number of lines you actually change and not on finding the correct values).

Do you even ponder for a second on the things you write? Because I wonder if you have the capability to understand that you accused him of stealing others' people work without any personal modifications and now you are admitting IN YOUR OWN WORDS that what you said was, in fact, a lie (as I said). Is it possible that you don't understand how despicable of a behavior this is? You have a problem with his modding practices but here you are lying to try to justify your stance. Of course he admitted that he used a modified global, as no sane modder would begin from a blank state instead of a base. The difficulty in a lightning mod is NOT on the amount of lines you change, but on finding the correct values. Everyone that has modded even just a Reshade or ENB profile, for example, knows that the bulk of the work is not on the amount of lines you change (that sometimes can be just a couple) but on the correct mix and values to produce the effect you desire.

I'm sorry but you two have no minimal idea of what you are talking about and so it should be wise to not accuse others of wrongdoing in a topic you so obviously have no minimal knowledge upon.

It seems he removed ad.fly links from his downloads, and he is giving credit for work he is using. Whether people believe the claims of "time spent" are exaggerated or not, I have not seen Lagoa, Lutz, etc in here disputing his use of that work as a base.
