Thanks.
Yeah I have to fix the media box area, but the court came over really well. Original work was Retroman who I received permission from on 2K17 to convert.
Working more on the roster tonight.

Looks like it is coming along nicely. For some reason I can’t figure out the team data CE table by ksmiz or else I’d probably start on editing my roster.
You’re always good with the art and smaller details so I’m pumped to see your updates.

Community,
With the new player limit discovery, I will not be able to overwrite the gaming teams.
So which would you rather me overwrite in order to get all the new classic teams in the game?
1. The current teams - making this 100% a retro roster
Or 2. The All Time Teams, keeping the current teams intact.
Let me know what you prefer.

I've been following this post and I think that the best option is:
1. The current teams - making this 100% a retro roster
Also, if you have space, I would like to see an "All time nba team" with the 15 best players of all time.
Amazing work by the way!!

I would also probably lean toward overwriting the current teams if you had to choose.

I personally would play this as a Myleague myself, so overwrite existing teams would be fine because I'd use your new teams and some of the classic teams already in the game.

BTW why not use free agents slots?

So all 4 people who responded want the current teams to be overwritten. That is how I will move forward.
Note: I am going to try and do this in a way that doesn't impact your other rosters. However, I want to give the new classic teams I add murals, so I need to figure out how that will work.

Overwrite WNBA teams ?

(dunno if possible)

Only 12 of them, I guess I could explore unlocking them for the regular roster, but I'm not sure if the players themselves would come along with the unlocking, which would make us run into the same problem as far as limits.
I entertained just adding 12 or so new classic teams, touching up the all time teams and filling the default classic teams, and releasing that as the roster.
But I believe people would rather have MORE classic teams.

IMO, you could even use all slots (AT, current and WNBA), it would be the definitive classic roster mod, but it will be a lot of work.

I would say replace current teams. 100% classic teams roster, a lot of possibilities with all those slots.

That looks like the route I will go.
However, it will be tricky not overwriting current player files, jerseys, etc. I may need people to keep a separate modded folder just for this roster.

As far as removing tiny portraits, how would we do that?
And can we assign new tiny portraits to players?

Can’t you just set the value to zero in CE? Haven’t tried

Might as well. Its 12 wasted slots. hahahaha! WNBA is great, just don't want to play a video game of it.

Hi all,
So, I am thinking about going in a different direction with this, the chances of this roster being done are slim to none. Here is why:
I downloaded Thunder Shaqs Ultimate Retro Roster (WIP), and he has almost all the exact same teams that I had in my 2K17 roster, and the ones that I said I would add here. While obviously we would not be making the teams exactly the same, and the roster layout would be different (He is creating an exclusive classic teams roster overwriting all non classic teams, so even more teams), it still kind of defeats the purpose of me creating this roster.
With that being said, I am unsure if he is filling all the default classic teams to 14 guys and making all teams myleague eligible, or all the teams he is putting in. But, I think you see where I am coming from as far as discontinuing the idea of doing mine.
Maumau will be doing single season, thunder shaq doing classic teams, so you guys will have a lot of retro content to get into. I am deciding on if I want to do a retro project for this game at this point, mainly because the purpose/feel isn't the same this time around. For the mods, I would like you to keep this thread open (not lock it) as I am unsure if I am going to try and spin this into a different project or not.
When I did my 2K17 roster, only one other person was doing a classic teams roster, Han roster. His selection of teams was almost 100% different, his layout was entirely different, I think we only had like 4 or 5 teams that overlapped. I was bringing you an experience to this gen that you folks had not had before (as far as so many new classic teams that were not in the default game). The situation is entirely different this time around with Thunder Shaq creating his roster.
Please support maumau and thunder shaq on projects, they are both good guys and love retro NBA. For all the people who supported me on my 2K17 rosters, and 2K16, I am sorry. However, thank you for all the support!

One of the things I really liked about your roster was that the All-time teams were accurate and complete. Is this something you'd consider sharing or are you using the Dest roster?

Currently I am not using any roster specifically. When I did my all time teams roster for 2K17, it had no duplicates, which is probably the biggest difference between my roster and 2Ks default all time teams. Mine was created to have a myleague or play now experience where you wouldn't see "shaq vs shaq", etc. And the league leaders wouldn't have the same players in it.
I am currently not planning an all time teams roster or classic teams roster for 2K20 (reasons listed above). I understand the all time teams idea would be me being the only one truly doing it (atleast at this point) but I am not going to spend a ton of time just updating the all time teams, when I am also not adding classic teams.
It would either be all or nothing.
So I am trying to brainstorm what I want to do, if anything at this point. All I can say is: keep an eye on the thread, I guess.

I'm with the gentlemen above I was hoping for your roster due to the completion of All Time teams. I loved playing with the All time teams in a season but there are alot still missing. You had the closest since 2K14 when Hawk had his UBR which was awesome!.. Hopefully somebody is willing to do a complete All Time Teams project which would be great. I would even donate for that due to adding more play time with 2K20.

TBH i'm most hyped by your 2K16 announcement.
If you dont worked on it, i would suggest you to work with Thunder Shaq (faces, portraits) who did an amazing amount of work before the summer on his 2K19 roster.

Is this project still in the works?

Nah, I may do some work that helps out Thunder Shaqs roster some (conversions, other faces, etc) but it's a little late in the game for me to start on mine.
Crossing my fingers that 2K21 will be modder friendly and flat out awesome so I can immerse myself in making rosters like I did for 2K17.
I miss modding.
