Thanks man! Here, you can see I have the newaudio/paplayers section on Row A and the file names on Row B. After listening to each file, I type the name on Row C. In Row D, are either A or H. There are two files for each name, one for home name announcements and one for away games. Home games are the files ending in ..14.wav and away games end in ..12.wav. I usually test 200 files at a time, which is 100 names so it's not that bad.
I've completed some more last night and this morning, so I am now 10% through the names in less than 48 hours. Per hour, I can note about 120-150 names, mostly because I check on the basketball reference website for spelling most of the time. Also, because the generic 2k pa announcer is terrible with pronunciation haha.
My whole plan is to get all of the name files in the spreadsheet and utilize the search bar, for the info to be easily accessible. Audacity allows for us to save the files in the same format as our 2k manifest file. That way, we can go on youtube or any other sources for name announcements, then download them to mp3 to finally save them as wav files. In the meantime, I am going to do some searching through the sheet and see if I find any correlation between the players and the numbers in the file names.
