Custom Cyberface 1st Attempt... (Help a novice out!)

I wish i knew how to do this, and an idea on how to model on blender.

Any advice on not making a cyberface look like an alien?

I followed a picture on blender and it still came out wierd, lobsided, and all and all an alien, even used a side profile photo too, im stuck. Please help!
