Bucknutz Community Roster

Postby bucknutz2015 on Sun Dec 15, 2019 1:17 pm

Hey guys. I just wrote a really long description of my roster....and then I got logged off! So no way I'm going to recreate it. It was a complete breakdown of everything done. I'll give the cliff notes instead.

***This is a COMMUNITY roster. I don't need any credits anywhere. I hope you guys can improve the product for all of us. I didn't edit any graphical content. Only numbers***

Based on Opening Night rosters. Teams don't have all players. I edited most of it inside MyLeague and when I exported it with Limnono I couldn't add back players to teams that already had 15 active players. If someone can figure that out, that would be awesome. Also, I didn't do any free agents. Sorry guys, it already took forever and currently only a couple have signed with NBA teams. I may do them in the future.

I spent over 200 hours editing this thing. Those that have done rosters know the time required to do it well. I used Synergy (subscription), NBAstats, (basketball-reference), and NBArotations.info for my data. Most attributes and tendencies edited using data from these sites. 90 percent is objective, numbers driven. The other 10 percent is subjective, test driven. Some numbers just didn't work in game, thus I adjusted to make the game play better. My focus on this project was to:

-Eliminate AI robo paint drives without cause.
-Create spacing for drive and kick game.
-Increase AI 3 point attempts at the right times.
-Create more realistic ISO's from ISO players.
-Apply correct play types for player tendencies.
-Create more turnovers, loose balls, tips, deflections.

Ratings edited include:
-Layup
-Close, Mid, 3
-Shot IQ (Subjective. Done through testing)
-Pass IQ and Vision (Subjective. Done through testing)
-OFF/DEF Consistency
-Interior and Perimeter D
-Steal, Block
-OFF, DEF Rebound (Capped at 80 to reduce the bigs grabbing ALL rebounds. Still a bit high for me, but better all around numbers)
-Lateral Quickness (Subjective. Done through testing)
-Help D IQ (Subjective. Done through testing. Important for spacing and drive and kick).

Tendencies edited include:
-Total Shot
-Close, Under, Mid, 3
-Shot locations for all positions
-Hot Zones for all players
-Spot Up/Off Screen Mid and 3
-Contested Mid and Three
-Transition Pull up 3
-Drive Pull Up Mid and 3
-Driving Layup and Dunk
-Total Drive
-Spot Up Drive
-Triple Threat Tendencies (Subjective. Done through testing. Reduced bigs holding the ball doing nothing)
-Dribble Tendencies (Subjective. Done through testing. Reduced the overkill of dribble moves, creating more flow on offense)
-Finish Strong
-Dish
-Roll vs Pop (AI actually uses the PNP game)
-Spot vs Cut (More space, more open players for shots)
-ISO Tendencies (Only ISO players will execute. Combined with play types, pass tendencies and drive tendencies to create more realistic ISO's)
-Post Tendencies
-Pass Intercept (Subjective. Done through testing. More turnovers created by guys playing passing lanes.)

*Players without enough data were given league averages for most ratings tendencies.

Also edited:
-All player sig shots (Credits to ATD Woody Sig Shots https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=P ... 7-Z4LYkC2P)
-All playbooks (Credits to Vannwolfhawk (OS). Old, but still works great. I used the plays that are still in the game from 2K18 and had to test the others). Most teams run the same plays, just different variations.
-Play types for all players (Replaced Guard Post with High Post. AI didn't execute guard post very well.)

I've also uploaded my sliders. They work great with the roster. If you choose to use other sliders though, I can't guarantee you'll get similar results.
The only thing I would recommend is to play at least 3 games before making changes. After many hours of testing, one thing I can say is that every game plays different depending on the teams and matchups.

One more thing. Badges. Originally I used all data for them, but it just didn't work guys. With the lower ratings, the AI was impotent. So you're gonna see badges for almost all players. All I can say is just give it a shot. I promise it plays great with very little "WTF" moments form the AI. I will say though that if it becomes too easy in MyLeague, you may want to remove your players badges. I would do this first before adjusting ratings.

Please feel free to ask anything about the tendencies/ratings. After so much testing, I have learned a lot about how the tendencies work with each other. I don't want to post everything here, so if you see something and wonder about, I can probably give you answer.
