Hi guys,
I'm new to modding NBA 2K but I'm a computer programmer so I like to think I'm not terrible at computers/modding games. I downloaded this file:
NBA 2K20 External File Plugin (Waigua) and extracted it to my NBA 2k20 folder. I then downloaded this file
2K14 Blacktop for NBA 2K20 and extracted s616.iff to the waigua folder that resides in the NBA 2k20 folder. I Then loaded up 2k20 as normal, went to blacktop mode, loaded up a 1 on 1 and my blacktop court still looked blue like the default court:

Does anyone have any ideas of things I can check to find out what I might be doing wrong?
Thanks.

Is there any way I can check if I have the mod loader installed properly? Could this issue with the mod loader possibly not working possibly be because I'm running this game via Steam Proton from within Linux?

I'm starting to lose hope on this ever getting answered but just in case is there anything I can test to figure out why it's not working? Any way I can enable logging or something? I also have this issue on NBA 2k18 and NBA 2k19 with their respective mod loaders as well not loading the custom blacktop court.
I also tried the All-Star court here:
viewtopic.php?f=258&t=108386 and it didn't work either, it kept displaying the 2019 Charlotte All-Star court.

It could be the modded / waigua folder.
See if there an updated version in the downloads section.

Hi,
Thanks for responding, I actually did try out both external file plugin waigua 1.1 and 1.0 however neither of them worked for me. Any other ideas of things I could check to find out why it's not working? Any way I could reach out to the developer of it? From what I understand, all I need is the external file plugin, then I extract the files to the modded folder and then mods like custom courts should work, right?
Thanks.

it could be that the the external file plugin doesn't work on linux

Try installing looyh's hook also

Yeah, I guess it just doesn't work on Linux. I get an error when attempting to run the game with looyh's hook:

My apologies for the bump but I just tested this on a Windows 10 PC, both the External File Plugin and the 2K14 Blacktop court, and it did work. That means yeah, it's not working on linux. Oh well, maybe one day it will, and at least I know I wasn't doing anything incorrectly.
