We will try to get authorization from 2K Sports , so we can continue this Fan-made non-profit Mods , and submit to the PBA a proposal that can be both beneficial to both parties..
we just want to enjoy the Game locally

You got a cease and desist for a fan-made mod that was previewed on these forums? Did you plan to profit off of it somehow? I don't know why they'd feel the need to send a cease and desist, usually its something with enormous traction that gets it or something that would receive massive profit without their consent. Congratulations though, that's really impressive and shows you were well on your way to an incredible project if it requires a cease and desist.

Tbf, it is the Philippines. Things are pretty messy but from what I can gather it's usually if the company doesn't want the content used by others then you can't do anything about it.

Pretty sure this happened when they started to put PBA rosters and assets behind paywalls. I've been telling everyone on Facebook for a long time now that making profit off 2K mods is a huge violation of copyright laws.

I guess the Philippines is a context totally different than what we have here, but they have been carrying the torch that chineese people created of putting everything behind a paywall, creating elite groups of people sharing their mods between them and constantly showing what "average" Joe's would never get and being downright toxic.

I feel sorry if that mod got stopped if their intentions were fair and they weren't doing it for profit, but I'll never feel sorry for 2K or Take-Two coming down on people selling mods based on their original files. Basically because if we continue to use this methods, Take-Two won't mind making modding the new releases nearly impossible.

Andrew showed in some post they have certainly been very strict with GTA V modding, resulting in two very big filed complaints against two modders.
