Cold Streak Question

It seems to me since the latest patch (1.10) that players now get a cold streak icon after missing 2 or 3 shots. This happens on the PC and while playing on my friends Xbox 1. Am I crazy or are there more "snowflakes" now ? At what point is it considered a cold streak ? The "snowflakes" also have red arrows on the substitution screen and I rarely had that before. I only play offline if that matters.

It doesn't take much for a cold streak, but it can be snapped by a single assist or basket.
