It is not entirely clear why 2К were removed this at all in previous NBA 2Ks. Most likely to increase sales, so some young players who did not play the old-gen NBA2Ks would respond: “Wow, this is an incredible new feature!!! Must buy 100%."

Its the goal. They add old things they deleted for saying: "Look this new feature".

2K couldn't have made clearer that the era of PS4 is already ovr. they could just say "wait for PS5 release of 2K21".

I really don't think more should realistically be expected. It'd be foolish of them to dump tons of resources into drastically altering the game when it would be a one year stopgap with a new platform dropping in 2021. As a consumer, it's of course disappointing, because we want to think we're getting our money's worth when we fork it over to companies for their product; but that's just not realistic with games that release annually like sports games. I would anticipate most sports titles for 2020 will be shells and even more of just a roster update than they seem to be regularly year to year.

NBA 2K20 Screenshots

Thu Aug 22, 2019 8:26 am

By the way, has NBA 2K20 uploaded a screenshot of DENNIS RODMAN,THE GREATEST PLAYER OF ALL TIME?
Or perhaps LARRY BIRD, THE MOST OVERRATED OFFICER WHO EVER PLAYED?
Just kidding. I really want to see more legends screenshots though. I know we have a new "old" Pippen in MyCareer mode that will be awesome in a modded retro roster.

They have RAZOR working for 2k now. So hopefully they let him fix a lot of the retro player faces.

Also, there videos on youtube before the dam game is even released called NBA 2k20 overpowered myplayer build. How the hell do these bums have any pride knowing the only reason there even good at the game is because they try to find flaws in the game and take advantage of it. Its like me bragging to be great at poker and I'm constantly cheating at the game.

I really don’t think he could be effective in only 6 months of getting on the job. He’ll have to learn all new programs. I would bet he’s used to completely revamp retro for next-gen. Hopefully that means they’ll be getting more attention in the future.

R4zor has already been doing faces and has shared a couple on Twitter.

He completely updated Jamison, which was needed

R4zor has definitely put his touch on a few faces

Interesting. I remember him saying they used more advanced tools than Blender. He must’ve adapted quick. Good on him, I don’t use retro players but it was obvious they were neglected. Hopefully this is a sign of big things to come and that 2k is listening to more nuanced critique of the community.

FYI, I've cleaned up this topic so that it's back on-topic. I've added some remarks to the locked topic of split posts, which I think if we all heed, will allow us to maintain a level of discourse I think we'd all rather have. These things happen from time to time, and I said, a heated discussion isn't always a bad thing. It only becomes problematic if it starts on the wrong foot, or gets out of control (or both). What's done is done, let's all move on and not have any further discussion of it beyond this post, but do please keep my words in mind. The community is what we make it, after all.

Back to the topic at hand...

It's awesome to see R4zor already having a positive impact as a member of the team. I've always been impressed by quality face updates for older players, as there are obviously far fewer HD photos to work from.

WOW finally. Where did you see that?

Watch this. It looks almost all of the All-time Lakers and Bulls have been updated.
I meant the ones that had PS3 face.

EDIT: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IJGg438nu5g

Found a roster video, which basically all they did this year, was integrate R4zor's cyberfaces into the game. I see some new ones as well, like Danny Ainge, Pippen, Jamison, Deshawn Stevenson, Etan Thomas, Casey Jacobsen, Yao.
Zion Williamson already in NOH all time team and hasn't played a single NBA game.

Jerry West still has two different height measurements (this has been a problem since 2K15). He's supposed to be 6'2", which is correct for the '65 Lakers, but he's listed as 6'0" on the '71 Lakers. I know you can easily fix this via roster editing, but I don't understand how this has gone unfixed for nearly 6 years.

Re: NBA 2K20 Screenshots

There's a youtube video where Jerry West admits that he's 6'4. I don't know why 2k has him listed at 6'2 or 6'0. lol I hope they still don't have Hakeeem Olajuwon at 7'0. When its clear that Shaq is like 3 inches taller than him. Hakeem is 6'10. Just like the nba constantly saying lebron is 260-280 when he never was over 250. lol I guess the nba does it to make the players seem more freakish of athletes.
