I think the addition of womens players would be fun, could give me a solid 50 hours in MyLeague messing around with it. As for now, I would rather wait for details on the new features.

I'm glad they're putting the WNBA license to use. Aside from that, I'm guessing that's all NBA 2K19 footage for now (with the WNBA players dropped in), so it's hard to get too excited or glean too much from it. With that being said, I guess the preview season is officially underway!

Well, it's certainly not much of a look at gameplay! A couple of cinematic angles, basically. Not too much to get hyped about yet, for me at least.

I´m always hyped with the new 2K games but this 2K20 looks like 2K19. The new graphics will come with PS5 and Xbox Scarlett so I hope we can export the cfs easily to the new game.

I an cool with recycled graphics as long as the gameplay is good. Yes, they need to improve the lighting and some other aspects of the graphics, but its more important to me that they fix the sliding/skating players (add better foot planting), fix the speed breaks and clunky change of direction, and some of the driving animations.

I really want to enjoy PLAYING 2K20.

I'm not expecting another big leap until the next generation of consoles comes out next year. In any case, I'm with Dee on this one. It's about enjoying the experience on the sticks.

Well, with my PC getting outdated, haven't played a 2k since '16. I got a PS4 so this a buy from me.

Notice how they don't exactly say it's 2k20 but a "first look" at what it might look like. They then let viewers assume it's 2k20 for the click bait lol

Future games are built off of older ones so technically 2k16 is a first look at 2k20 as well haha

Good point. At the very least, it's pretty safe to assume it will be similar.

To be fair to every dev ever... That's how game development works. You don't write each game from scratch. Especially on yearly release schedule you get to focus on limited amount of stuff to improve.

Do not expect 2K20 to be too special (best case scenario it will pleasantly surprise you).


Hell, the devs should by now have preliminary dev kits. Some work on next-gen is probably being done, so I'd say that 2K20 will have even less improvement in comparison because of that.

And I want to say I don't expect them to do anything too special. WNBA probably took quite a while to implement even though it's not that different. I suspect most work there was for art and animation departments.

For me, if they focused on bugs and squashed as many of them as they can the game would be a buy. If they fix the broken defence (just yesterday my defender sagged off a guy who just hit three 3 pointers in row - if you do that you're going to the bench), various problems with clipping, nonsense offensive actions (full court pass through 3 defenders and the receiver just catches it like nothing with one hand, various instances of ball being magnetic during rebounding or dribbling, bad animations to punish players even more on blocks or steals that seemingly do not happen to AI, ...

If they fix stuff like this I'd buy the game as a sign of support with that direction. I know to not expect generational leap in the last year before next-gen consoles actually hit the market. But focusing on fixing what has been wrong with the game for years now would make me look at it differently.

Trailer didn't really do anything for me but then again it was only a little teaser. Cool that the WNBA teams are in the game now but if it's just a Play Now thing like the Euroleague teams were it's really just a waste of time. Incorporate them into the rest of the game like MyCareer/MyTeam/MyLeague modes etc. and it will have me interested.

It's some dev build either way. Sounds like art team working fast though.

The focus on Zion Williamson's jersey from the back rather than his face suggests that he hasn't sat down for a scan yet. That usually happens during the Summer League, of course.

I wonder if WNBA will play exactly like NBA. In Live, they somehow made it actually more fun to play than with NBA teams

What about a female MyCareer, where our character plays in Europe against generic European teams (most WNBA players are signed by European teams for winter) at prelude mode?

I don't know if I'd count on it being a thing this year, but some kind of mode would immediately put them ahead of what NBA Live has done with the WNBA teams to date.
