More swish with real player % ?

Tue Apr 21, 2020 12:09 pm

Hi everyone !

Recently I've been playing using real player % cause the best sliders I've found some far use the real %.

But one thing I have noticed is that when you are using real player % you almost never get to do swish shots. By that I mean that the ball always touch the rim (sometimes many times) before going in.

To be sure of what I'm saying, I used a player in freestyle and shot a lot of mid range shots in order to make 30 shots. And out of these 30, none was a perfect swish shot.

Lately I've been watching some classic NBA games (as many of us I guess), and when you watch these guys shooting most of the times it's nothing but net or worse case scenario the back of the rim.

So I know that increasing the sliders would make more swish animation but that would also increase the fg% which is already too high, so that's not an option for me.

As I'm NOT a modder myself and don't know how this work, does anyone know if it is possible to make a mod that would increase the number of swish shots when using real % without increasing the fg% ? I think that would make the game much more realistic :)

I know this is not a mod submission or preview by any means, (wrong thread) but I know exactly what you mean. Playing on Real player % makes it so pure swishes almost NEVER happen. I haven't done any testing but I believe it is because most USER sliders for jump shots/free throws is BELOW 50. Which means there is basically no chance that a perfect shot can happen. I could totally be wrong on this, but I haven't found an answer and figured this was the cause. Doesn't bother me too much, but it is noticeable. Is there any reason for this? I would love to know as well.

Sorry for the wrong thread then, I thought that maybe some sort of gameplay mod could change this haha

I actually tried putting the sliders up to 100 using real % just for the test, I saw more perfect shots than before but it still was a large minority (i'd say around 10-15%). So it seems that a made shot using real% = a made shot using timing and releasing on "too early/late", but never equal a green release.

It would have been nice to change it so a made shot using real % = a green release in like 60% of the time.

Talking about green release, is there any way to remove the green "splash" underneath the player when they shoot ? it is really annoying especially when it happens with cpu: you already know it's going in.
